Recently, Hongshi Intelligent has officially entered into a profound strategic partnership with Professor Cao Liangcai's team from the Department of Precision Instruments at Tsinghua University. Together, they are addressing the core challenges faced by MicroLED microdisplay optical systems.
The primary focus of this collaboration is to tackle a fundamental optical issue that has long hindered the development of AR glasses: how to efficiently gather and control the emission angles of microdisplay light sources, while simultaneously minimizing light energy loss. This bottleneck directly affects the delicate balance between the volume of the optical engine, brightness, and the overall power consumption of the device, posing a significant obstacle to the creation of lightweight AI glasses.

The Department of Precision Instruments at Tsinghua University possesses a wealth of expertise in holographic optical imaging, micro-nano optics, and computational imaging. Professor Cao Liangcai, a member of both SPIE and OPTICA, has research interests that are closely aligned with Hongshi Intelligent's technical requirements.
The collaboration between Hongshi Intelligent and Tsinghua University aims to bridge the gap between state-of-the-art optical design techniques and the conditions required for mass production processes. It seeks to transform optical optimizations from the laboratory into viable solutions that can be implemented on the production line. If successful, this initiative could significantly accelerate the pace of industrialization for core MicroLED optical technologies.
