Huang Renxun visited the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology to discuss AI, robotics, employment trends, and future development trends with college students, particularly focusing on the significant impact of artificial intelligence. Huang said that today is an extraordinary moment for graduates and for NVIDIA. "Artificial intelligence has ushered in a new era of computing that will impact every industry across every scientific field," he said. "The software industry is racing to adopt machine learning and generative AI, while the hardware industry is competing to modernize the trillion-dollar traditional computing infrastructure."

1. The era of AI has arrived

There is a high demand for high-tech talent, especially in AI-related fields, across various companies. However, we can also observe from real-life examples that job opportunities for college graduates are indeed narrowing. Many positions are fiercely contested by numerous graduates, leading to immense competition. Some companies even prefer experienced talent, which is also true in high-tech fields. But how much experience can recent graduates, fresh out of the ivory tower of academia, really have? How can they be considered experienced talent? Therefore, they face greater difficulties in finding employment. The popularity of AIGC has had an impact on employment competition trends, though opinions vary. However, it is undeniable that it has become more challenging for college graduates to find jobs.

Currently, international giants are actively deploying in the AI market, hoping to bring a new perspective and change through technological revolution. They are willing to invest heavily to avoid falling behind the times and impacting their future development, similar to the initial internet revolution. Missing out on that revolution meant missing out on an entire era. In Huang Renxun's view, AI is sparking a scientific revolution, accelerating simulations, real-time control experiments, predictive modeling, and revolutionary changes across multiple fields, including drug discovery, genetics, and climate science. For an industry, such modal changes may be inevitable, but for ordinary college students, it will take time to adapt.

Huang Renxun believes that AI and robotics are the two major trends of future development. Regarding AI Agents, he said, "Companies worldwide are racing to adopt AI to accelerate innovation and increase productivity. Soon, companies will have AI Agents working alongside every team, from marketing, sales, supply chains, chip design, software development, and other organizations." However, there is significant concern in the industry that AI may replace some jobs, especially as AI-based automation becomes increasingly prevalent for certain roles. If this trend continues to spread, the impact on job displacement could be greater than anticipated, which is a significant concern.

2. Robots are also coming, increasing competition for jobs

Regarding robots, Huang Renxun stated that investment in robots is surging in heavy industry and manufacturing due to new breakthroughs in the physical domain. "The basic models of cognitive intelligence have made rapid progress, and those of physical intelligence are also advancing rapidly, heralding the arrival of the robot era." In fact, robots are already performing various tasks around us, including in household applications, sometimes going unnoticed. With the increasing popularity of AIGC, especially the growing functionality of AI voice assistants, robot development is accelerating. Many entrepreneurs, including Elon Musk, are also attempting to liberate humanity through a new perspective. While this may to some extent impact existing jobs, from the perspective of technological progress and civilization expansion, the arrival of the robot era is an inevitable trend.

Addressing young people, Huang Renxun said, "Artificial intelligence is undoubtedly the most important technology of this era. I'm excited for all of you graduates. I wish I could have started my career at this time. The entire world has been reset, and you're on the starting line along with everyone else. Industries are being reshaped, and new ones are being created. You now have tools that can advance scientific development in many different fields."

As is well-known, NVIDIA's market value and corporate performance have experienced rapid growth this year, largely benefiting from the development of AI. It can be said that NVIDIA is the biggest beneficiary of the AI dividend. Its stock market value once surpassed that of Apple, making it the world's largest technology company by market value. With the continuous development of AIGC and the ongoing demand for high-performance chips, NVIDIA is facing huge demand and orders.

3. NVIDIA is the biggest beneficiary of the AI dividend

Currently, NVIDIA's new-generation Blackwell architecture chips are attracting significant attention. Recently, NVIDIA released its third-quarter financial report, with data center revenue reaching a record high. The report showed that NVIDIA's third-quarter revenue reached $35.1 billion, a year-on-year increase of 94%, maintaining a rapid growth trend. However, market analysis suggests that NVIDIA's third-quarter report showed some growth slowdown compared to previous quarters. The primary reasons may be related to supply constraints of the new-generation Blackwell architecture chips and potential policy changes by the Trump administration.

In response, Huang Renxun stated that demand for Blackwell chips is very strong, but production and supply capacities still face challenges. The market currently estimates that Blackwell chips will generate $62.6 billion in revenue for NVIDIA in fiscal year 2026 and potentially exceed $97 billion in fiscal year 2027, far surpassing the annual revenue of any other chip company except TSMC. More importantly, technology companies continue to increase their investment in AI, providing a fundamental guarantee for NVIDIA's potential high-speed growth. According to WSJ analysts, Microsoft, Amazon, Meta, and Google's parent company Alphabet are expected to have combined capital expenditures of $242 billion in 2024, increasing to $285 billion in 2025.

The investment plans of technology giants are highly dependent on the adoption rate of generative AI services by their customers and their ability to build high-performance data centers. Therefore, for NVIDIA to achieve sustained high-speed growth, the demand for AIGC across the entire industry and ecosystem is crucial. The construction of a large-scale environment requires a massive amount of high-performance chips, and without strong market demand, NVIDIA may not experience explosive growth opportunities. Thus, whether it's the development of AIGC or robotics, Huang Renxun is optimistic about both, viewing them as the basic requirements for NVIDIA to maintain high-speed growth. As long as the market maintains a steady demand stimulus for these high-tech industries, it will inevitably lead to sustained growth in high-performance chips. Huang Renxun's advice to college students aligns with the development of the times, encouraging them to quickly integrate into the era of AI and robotics and become part of the collaborative effort.
