On the evening of July 31, BYD announced that it had entered into a multi-year strategic partnership with Uber, an international mobility and delivery technology company, with plans to deploy 100,000 new BYD electric vehicles in key global markets to further expand the lineup of electric vehicles on the Uber platform.

To encourage more drivers to adopt electric vehicles, both parties will further consider offering charging discounts, vehicle maintenance or insurance benefits, and financing and leasing solutions tailored to specific market conditions for vehicle owners in the future.
Additionally, BYD and Uber have stated that they will collaborate on the development of autonomous vehicles and deploy them on Uber's ride-hailing platform in the future.
Wang Chuanfu, Chairman and President of BYD, commented, "BYD and Uber share a commitment to innovation and a vision for a cleaner, greener world. I am delighted that BYD can join hands with Uber to move towards this future together."
Dara Khosrowshahi, CEO of Uber, said, "When an Uber driver switches to an electric vehicle, they drive more frequently, resulting in emissions reductions four times greater than those achieved by the average driver. We are thrilled to deepen our collaboration with BYD, focused on enhancing user experience and creating social value."
Industry insiders believe that this partnership between BYD and Uber represents a new direction for China's independent brands to go global. Simultaneously, through this collaboration, BYD is poised to further boost its sales and market coverage in overseas markets. To date, BYD's new energy vehicles have reached over 80 countries and regions worldwide.
