As one of the first new devices to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, iQOO 13 has been frequently exposed recently.

First, let's review iQOO's phones this year. The best-selling models were mainly from the iQOO Neo series and the standard versions of the iQOO digital series, such as the iQOO Neo9 series and the iQOO 12. It's worth mentioning that the iQOO 12 Pro, with its more powerful configuration and affordable price, did not perform well in sales. The industry speculated that iQOO might discontinue the Pro version, and indeed, the iQOO 13 has been exposed recently, and this time, there will be no Pro version; we will only welcome the standard version of the iQOO 13.

Now, it's rumored that iQOO 13 will cancel the Pro version, and the configuration specifications of the standard version will be enhanced.

Combining relevant leaks, the new device will adopt a metal frame and glass body, equipped with a regular narrow-bezel large-sized straight screen made of BOE X series substrate, featuring 2K resolution and supporting LTPO technology. It will also adopt a single-point ultrasonic fingerprint recognition solution, support high-standard dustproof and waterproof capabilities, and retain some classic designs.

It will be equipped with a 50-megapixel rear triple camera setup, including a 3X periscope telephoto lens (which may be adjusted downward at the time of actual release). It supports AAC 1016 vibration motor testing, and the battery capacity is expected to exceed 6000mAh, supporting 100W wired charging.

Of course, iQOO flagship phones have always been known for their extreme performance, and the iQOO 13 is no exception. It will be equipped with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor, coupled with LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.0 storage, forming the “performance iron triangle” of the new flagship. According to leaks, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will feature a brand-new self-developed CPU architecture, resulting in significant improvements in both single-core and multi-core CPU performance compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, as well as GPU performance. This means that the iQOO 13 equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is expected to easily exceed 3 million points in AnTuTu benchmarks, representing a considerable performance improvement.

In addition to its core configuration, the iQOO 13 does not skimp on peripheral specifications. The new device will support IP68 dustproof and waterproof capabilities, which have become an important indicator for flagship phones. Meanwhile, the iQOO 13 will also feature stereo dual speakers with excellent sound output, a large X-axis linear motor, multi-functional NFC, and infrared remote control. Notably, the new device will also support single-point ultrasonic fingerprint recognition, a high-end configuration already applied in the iQOO Neo9S Pro+ and offering an excellent experience.

By the way, due to the immaturity of domestic wide-area ultrasonic fingerprint technology solutions, the iQOO 13 has opted for a domestic single-point ultrasonic fingerprint solution.

Compared to optical fingerprint recognition, ultrasonic fingerprint recognition can construct a 3D fingerprint image, providing stronger anti-interference capabilities against water stains and dirt, with a recognition rate much higher than that of optical fingerprints. It also supports liveness detection, making fingerprint unlocking safer.

Its screen is a regular large size to meet users' needs for fast unlocking and convenient operation.

Regarding its peripheral configuration, the iQOO 13 opts for a 6000mAh battery with a capacity of 6000mAh, complemented by a 100W fast charging solution, but does not support wireless charging. The vibration motor has also been upgraded to AAC ESA1016 from AAC, primarily to enhance the device's gaming attributes.

In terms of imaging, the iQOO 13 retains the previous generation's triple camera setup, consisting of a 50-megapixel main camera, a 3X periscope telephoto lens, and an ultra-wide-angle lens.

Apart from that, judging from the currently exposed parameters, the newly exposed device appears to have few shortcomings in terms of hardware configuration. With only one model available, it remains to be seen whether there will be any adjustments in pricing.

As for the release date of the iQOO 13, it is reported that the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor is expected to make its debut at the 2024 Snapdragon Summit scheduled for October 21-23. Based on this timeline, the new device is expected to be officially released at the end of October or early November. You can stay tuned for its actual performance.

Finally, as the date approaches, more details about the iQOO 13 series will gradually be revealed. For consumers and tech enthusiasts eagerly awaiting this new device, the iQOO 13 series is undoubtedly another noteworthy product in the market.
