August 8, Quick Tech News: Today, Tongxin Software announced the official release of China's first OS-level edge-side model, UOS LM, which includes 1.5B and 7B models.

Currently, the UOS LM edge-side model is inviting targeted users of the Tongxin UOS Community Edition (deepin V23) for a closed beta test.

Officials stated that Tongxin Software has taken the lead in achieving a domestic breakthrough by releasing China's first OS-level edge-side model, deeply empowering the most suitable operating system for AI PCs.

To ensure a smooth experience, the following hardware specifications are recommended:

1.5B model: 2GB RAM, 4GB GPU memory, 10TOPS

7B model: 8GB RAM, 10GB GPU memory, 20TOPS

In terms of security, UOS LM adopts a localized deployment strategy, completely eliminating the dependence on the internet and avoiding the risk of privacy leaks that may arise from data being uploaded to the cloud.

All data processing is done locally, without an internet connection or leaving the user's device, ensuring maximum protection of data confidentiality and integrity.

In terms of third-party authorization, Tongxin Software conducts signature verification for all third-party applications to ensure their reliable sources and prevent malware attacks.

When sharing data, UOS LM employs desensitization techniques to prevent sensitive information from being leaked during transmission and storage.

According to the introduction, for individual users, the UOS LM V1.0 version enables the construction of a knowledge base from local documents and supports semantic-based similarity search and vector analysis operations through a vector database. This helps users utilize the UOS AI desktop intelligent assistant for question-answering, translation, creation, and other functions.

For organizational users, the key lies in enabling intelligent input and output of text data within existing information system databases.

For the original documents of organizational users, the processing by the knowledge base system is divided into five parts: document preprocessing, intelligent text segmentation, vectorized calculation, vector index construction, and the saving and calling of metadata index files.

For developers, UOS LM provides rich functionality, flexibility, and robust documentation support, simplifying the AI application development process, accelerating the development of industry applications and business systems, and expanding AI application scenarios.
