Fast Technology, August 23rd news, the global semiconductor market revenue reached $149.9 billion in the second quarter of 2024, an increase of 6.5% quarter-on-quarter and 18.3% year-on-year.
The WSTS report shows that the revenue of major global semiconductor companies generally increased in the second quarter. Among the top 15 companies, only MediaTek and STMicroelectronics saw a decline in revenue.
Memory companies performed strongly, with SK Hynix and Kioxia's revenue increasing by over 30% each, Samsung Semiconductor by 23%, and Micron Technology by 17%.
NVIDIA's second-quarter revenue reached $28 billion, continuing to lead the semiconductor industry.
Samsung follows closely behind with $20.7 billion in revenue. Broadcom is expected to generate $13 billion in revenue, surpassing Intel's $12.8 billion, pushing Intel to fourth place.
The third-quarter revenue outlook is optimistic, with AMD expecting 15% revenue growth and Micron expecting a 12% growth in the memory market.
Samsung and SK Hynix anticipate continued growth in server AI demand.
The semiconductor market grew 18% year-on-year in the first half of 2024, with full-year growth expected to be 17.0%.
