Although Xiaomi's first-generation foldable MIX Flip has just been launched, the company has already started preparing for the second-generation product.

According to foreign media reports, two codes for Xiaomi MIX Flip 2 have been discovered in the GSMA IMEI database recently, namely 2505APX7BC and 2505APX7BG, representing the Chinese version and the international version.

Sources believe that based on the release schedule of the first-generation MIX Flip, Xiaomi may begin teasers in January 2025, officially announce in February 2025, and launch sales in May 2025, judging from the model numbers.

In line with Xiaomi's flagship positioning of the MIX Flip, the second-generation will continue to focus on performance experience, and it is expected that the processor will be upgraded to Snapdragon 8 Gen4, and imaging capabilities should also be improved again.

Additionally, it is reported that Xiaomi MIX Flip is currently selling very well, and the company attaches great importance to it. After its launch, the company has repeatedly pushed Pengpai OS updates, adding many new features and optimizations to the external screen and overall user experience.

It is worth mentioning that Xiaomi MIX Flip foldable phones have received the Pengpai HyperOS 1.0.11.0 UNICNXM version update, with a system update package size of approximately 625 MB.

In addition, Lu Weibing, Xiaomi's Group Partner, President, and President of the International Business Department, talked about the sales of Xiaomi MIX Flip foldable phones:

We have just launched two foldable phones: a large foldable and a small foldable. The price range of the large foldable is around 10,000 yuan, breaking the 10,000 yuan threshold, while the small foldable is priced around 6,000 to 7,500 yuan. The small foldable has been a huge hit since its launch, and the delivery cycle after ordering is still relatively long. 32% of the users of the small foldable are switchers from iPhone users, and 55% are female users. This is related to our continuous technological investment in the mobile phone business and deepening user insights in recent years, and it also provides strong support for our high-end strategy.

Besides, it is worth mentioning that the current Xiaomi MIX Flip features a 4.01-inch external screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 6.86-inch internal screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1.5K resolution. The lightest version weighs 192 grams, with a thickness of 7.6-7.8 mm when unfolded and 15.99-16.19 mm when folded. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen3 mobile platform, equipped with a 4780mAh battery, and supports 67W wired charging. It comes with a dual-camera setup, including a 50MP wide-angle lens and a 50MP 2x telephoto camera.

Finally, it is foreseeable that Xiaomi MIX Flip 2 will most likely be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 mobile platform. However, it is still uncertain whether it will be launched in May next year as reported by foreign media.
