Recently, most of the content related to mobile phones on the internet has been dominated by Apple. After so long of leaks and rumors from third-party sources, the four iPhone 16 models were finally unveiled early this morning. Their influence is unparalleled by competitors. I'm not exaggerating; the trending topics on social media prove it. It's rare to see a new phone launch generate so much buzz. Among the top 50 trending topics, there were 21 related to the iPhone 16 series. No other phone manufacturer has ever received such attention, except for Apple.

Let's focus on the phones themselves. As I previously hinted, the price remains unchanged, starting at 5999 yuan. This puts pressure on competitors who may have to raise their prices. In terms of updates, there aren't many, but the fact that the price remains the same will leave a lasting impression on users. Let's start with the standard edition.

In the past, Apple mixed and matched iPhone chips, but this year, all models come equipped with the A18 chip. I believe one significant reason for this change is the pressure from Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen4 and MediaTek's Dimensity 9400. While the A18 in the standard edition is slightly weaker than the one in the Pro version (lacking one GPU core), it still offers comparable performance in other aspects. Compared to previous generations, Apple's decision this year will make the iPhone 16 standard edition more appealing to consumers.

Apart from the chip, there are other attractive features. To support spatial video shooting, the standard edition features a dual rear camera setup arranged vertically, with upgraded 8GB of RAM. It also includes a dedicated camera button that can be used for various functions such as opening the camera, accessing features, and confirming shots through single taps, swipes, or long presses. You can try these features out once you get your hands on the phone. From the on-site experience after the launch event, the feedback has been positive.

Furthermore, the iPhone 16 standard edition boasts enhanced thermal performance thanks to its 100% recycled aluminum alloy structure. This is not surprising considering the A18 chip's powerful performance, which allows for seamless gaming experiences. As the main revenue driver for Apple's new iPhone lineup each year, the Pro models are bound to offer even more advanced features. The A18 Pro chip is a given, but the real power lies in its photography capabilities.

The two Pro models can now shoot 4K120fps Dolby Vision HDR and ProRes videos, far surpassing competitors in video quality. Additionally, the Pro models support audio mixing, allowing users to adjust audio effects with a single tap while filming, essentially offering professional recording capabilities. Regarding AI functionality, Apple has confirmed that Chinese language support will be added, but it's important to clarify that this doesn't mean Apple's AI will directly support Chinese; rather, domestic vendors will provide AI features, with Baidu being a popular guess among many.

Pre-orders for the iPhone 16 series will open in three days, with official sales starting ten days later. Are you interested in getting your hands on one?
