In November last year, iQOO launched the iQOO 12 series flagship, a performance product focusing on gaming experience. This series of models not only equipped with Qualcomm's top Snapdragon 8 Gen3 flagship platform at that time in the Android camp but also debuted its full-stack self-developed Q1 e-sports chip and self-developed algorithm. It received widespread praise from users upon its launch. Since then, there have been many leaks about the new generation of iQOO 13, attracting significant attention from the outside world.
First, iQOO 13 will be the first globally to debut BOE's latest generation of light-emitting materials.
According to its introduction, BOE's latest generation of light-emitting materials, compared to the previous generation:
Global peak brightness increased by 12.5%
Lifespan increased by 33%
Power consumption reduced by 10%
Color shift reduced by more than 50% in extreme temperature environments
Another noteworthy point is that recently, some digital bloggers have released the imaging parameters of iQOO 13. Compared to the previous generation, both the main camera and telephoto lens have been replaced with new CMOS sensors.
It is reported that the main camera of iQOO 13 uses a 50-megapixel Sony IMX921 sensor, the ultra-wide-angle camera uses a 50-megapixel Samsung S5KJN1 sensor, and the telephoto lens uses a brand-new 50-megapixel Sony IMX826 sensor, supporting 2x optical zoom.
For comparison, the previous generation iQOO 12's main camera uses a 1/1.31-inch OmniVision VCS OV50H sensor with a 1.2-micron pixel size, paired with a 64-megapixel OV64B periscope telephoto lens supporting 3x optical zoom and OIS optical image stabilization. The ultra-wide-angle camera uses a 50-megapixel Samsung S5KJN1 sensor.
In other words, except for the ultra-wide-angle lens, both the main camera and telephoto lens of the new generation iQOO 13 have seen a reduction in specifications.
By the way, those familiar with iQOO phones will know that the RGB light strip on the first-generation iQOO phones looked pretty cool back then. However, this distinctive design has not reappeared since the iQOO 3.
Recently, there was news that the iQOO 13 series would return to the classic design of the first generation, reviving the RGB light strip design.
Furthermore, according to the latest exposure, iQOO 13 may offer a 6100mAh dual-cell battery and is expected to support wired fast charging with a maximum power of 120W. Clearly, this combination provides excellent battery life while meeting users' demands for higher charging power. Unfortunately, iQOO 13 does not support wireless charging this time.
In addition, iQOO 13 is equipped with Qualcomm's newly launched Snapdragon 8 Gen4 processor, making it the most powerful straight-screen flagship phone in the industry. The Snapdragon 8 Gen4 is based on Qualcomm's self-developed Oryon CPU core, featuring two high-performance cores clocked at 4.09GHz and six efficiency cores clocked at 2.78GHz.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen4 processor integrates the Adreno 830 GPU, providing exceptional graphics processing capabilities. It is reported that the operating frequency of the Adreno 830 GPU will be increased to 1250MHz, representing a performance improvement of over 25% compared to the Adreno GPU in the Snapdragon 8 Gen3 Leading Edition. In Geekbench 6 benchmarks, the Snapdragon 8 Gen4 scored 2884 in single-core tests and 8840 in multi-core tests. Compared to competitors, its single-core score is comparable, while its multi-core score leads by a significant margin.
Regarding its appearance, it is reported that the overall design of iQOO 13 may remain largely unchanged. The front of the device may feature a straight-screen with further narrowed bezels, resulting in an even more impressive screen-to-body ratio. Additionally, multiple color options, including Rococo White, are expected to be available.
In terms of peripherals, NFC, infrared remote control, dual speakers, and an X-axis linear motor are all standard features. The highly anticipated single-point ultrasonic fingerprint sensor will also be included. Regarding pricing, the initial price of iQOO 12 was 3,999 yuan. Even if the imaging capabilities of iQOO 13 are reduced, considering the increased cost of the Snapdragon 8 Gen4 and the addition of a 2K screen, it would be reasonable for iQOO 13 to continue with a starting price of 3,999 yuan.
Lastly, Mingmei Infinite summarizes the currently exposed iQOO 13 parameter information as follows:
