In today's competitive smartphone market, where high-end devices boast advanced camera systems and multiple telephoto lenses, budget phones often face constraints that limit their capabilities. vivo, however, has approached this challenge creatively with the launch of the vivo Y300, focusing on delivering unparalleled audio quality and battery life to attract potential users.

Budget Phones with Refined Aesthetics

The vivo Y300 is a 6.77-inch smartphone available in three striking colors: Pine Green, Snow White, and Star Diamond Black. The Pine Green variant measures 163.6x76.2x7.85mm and weighs just under 200g at 199.9g.

Its 6.77-inch OLED display boasts a resolution of 2392x1080 pixels, supports a 120Hz refresh rate, and offers a global peak brightness of 1300 nits and a local peak brightness of 1800 nits, covering the P3 wide color gamut. Protected by Diamond Shield glass with dual reinforcement technology, the screen is highly resilient to drops and scratches. Additionally, its Rockfall-resistant structure ensures enhanced sealing and shock resistance.

The Pine Green back cover features a unique hue inspired by layered pine needles, resembling overlapping green ginkgo leaves. The rear camera module, adorned with 666 Parisian nail decorations, adds a touch of elegance to the phone's design.

Internally, the vivo Y300 adopts a compact architecture similar to flagship models. The newly designed motherboard and sub-board are significantly shorter, optimizing space for the oversized speakers and 6500mAh battery.

Laptop-Quality Audio

Despite the popularity of true wireless Bluetooth earbuds, vivo's survey revealed that approximately 90% of Y-series users prefer external speakers for audio and video playback. Responding to this need, vivo collaborated with AAC to develop the 2613D new-generation speaker.

The 2613D speaker boasts a sound unit 3.75 times larger than the previous top-tier 1511E speaker, producing sound comparable to laptop speakers. Coupled with a 4cc professional acoustic chamber and a peak power of 4.5W, it achieves an ultra-high sound pressure level of 91.7dB, six times louder than previous vivo speakers.

The vivo Y300's tri-directional speaker system comprises three speakers: two placed at the top and bottom frames, and a third integrated into the rear camera module. This ensures unblocked sound whether the phone is held vertically or horizontally.

vivo, renowned for its audio prowess with the XPlay series, has optimized the Y300's sound for a more comfortable listening experience. High frequencies are balanced, mid-frequencies are fuller, and the large speaker creates a mini subwoofer effect. Additionally, it supports 3D panoramic audio and holographic audio, providing immersive sound experiences.

Massive 6500mAh Battery

The vivo Y300 houses a high-capacity 6500mAh Blue Ocean battery, utilizing a 776Wh/L high-energy-density cell with a cube expansion package that reduces the battery protection board size by 15%. Coupled with a new polymer material for the battery case, it achieves increased capacity within the same volume.

According to vivo, the Y300 offers 16.5 hours of screen-on time, 25 hours of continuous video playback, and 110 hours of continuous music playback. With 1% battery remaining, enabling super power-saving mode extends standby time to 4.3 hours, talk time to 23.8 minutes, and 18 unlocks.

Our tests using the Battery Dog app revealed an extrapolated battery life exceeding 20 hours, surpassing all listed models.

Hardware Specifications

The vivo Y300 is powered by the MTK Dimensity 6300 processor with 2x 2.4GHz Cortex A76 CPU cores and 6x 2.0GHz Cortex A55 CPU cores. The Mali-G57-based GPU offers smooth graphics performance. Storage options include 8+128GB, 8+256GB, 12+256GB, and 12+512GB, with our review unit featuring the highest configuration.

The dual-camera setup includes a 50-megapixel main camera with a 1/2.76-inch sensor and an F1.8 aperture, supporting quad-pixel binning for cleaner night photos and 2X zoom. The 2-megapixel depth-of-field camera assists with portrait photography. The front camera uses an 8-megapixel 1/4-inch CMOS sensor with portrait mode support.
