Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim Fully Unveiled: Stealing a March on Apple!

Recently, the fourth model in the Samsung S25 series, the S25 Slim, has quietly garnered public attention. In a short span, details about this enigmatic new device have emerged in abundance.

First and foremost, global tech giants Apple and Samsung have both set their sights on the sleek market this year. Apple has nearly confirmed the release of the iPhone 17 Air, boasting a thickness of just 6.2mm, scheduled for launch in September.

However, Samsung has stolen a march on Apple by unveiling the Galaxy S25 series this month, which includes the sleek new model, the Galaxy S25 Slim.

Nestled between the Samsung Galaxy S25+ and Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, the S25 Slim is slightly thicker than the iPhone 17 Air, estimated at around 6.5mm.

Recently, a Samsung device with model number SM-S937B/DS received certification, with the "B" signifying it as a global version of the phone. This indicates that the Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim is poised for a worldwide release.

Additionally, a previous leak revealed the comprehensive camera specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim.

The leak suggests that the Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim will feature a new 200MP ISOCELL HP5 sensor, measuring approximately 1/1.56 inches (previous rumors suggested 1/1.3 inches). Both the ultra-wide-angle and telephoto cameras will employ a 50MP JN5 sensor (1/2.76 inches, 0.64µm pixels), with only one telephoto lens supporting 3.5x optical zoom.

Simultaneously, the new phone will incorporate the newly released ALoP (All Lenses on Prism) camera technology, positioning the lenses horizontally on a prism, parallel to the phone body. This layout increases the lens diameter without raising the camera module's height, thereby enhancing image brightness.

In other aspects, it sports a 2K 120Hz LTPO display, equipped with ultrasonic fingerprint recognition, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Ultimate for Galaxy processor, and comes standard with 12GB of RAM. The battery capacity has yet to be disclosed, but charging is anticipated to remain at the traditional 45W wired solution.

On the other hand, the iPhone 17 Air has omitted the ultra-wide-angle camera, retaining only a 48MP main camera. Its camera specifications pale in comparison to those of Samsung and even current Plus models. However, the front camera has been upgraded from 12MP to 24MP.

In terms of configuration beyond the camera, it mirrors the iPhone 17 standard model, introducing ProMotion technology for the first time, enabling a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz. It also promises a new selling point: an ultra-hard anti-reflective coating for enhanced scratch resistance and anti-reflection capabilities.

Performance-wise, it is fueled by the A19 chip, leveraging TSMC's upgraded 3nm process (N3P), offering enhanced performance and energy efficiency. Memory remains at 8GB, and the phone will be equipped with Apple's proprietary 5G modem, promising improved signal reception.

In an era where flagship phones often feel bulky, the Slim models highlight sleekness as their unique selling point. Coupled with decent configurations, they appeal to users who prefer a sleek feel. Additionally, the 6.66-inch Slim model complements the 6.2-inch standard model, allowing users who favor smaller screens to opt for the standard model and those who cherish sleekness to choose the Slim model.

Furthermore, compared to the Pro versions of mainstream phone brands' flagship series, the + versions of the Samsung Galaxy S series have traditionally been less competitive. On one hand, Samsung has not clearly distinguished between the positioning of the standard and + versions, resulting in minimal configuration differences. On the other hand, when the price of the Galaxy S series + versions aligns with that of other mainstream brands' Pro versions, they lack a hardware advantage.

The introduction of the Slim model bridges the hardware gap between the Galaxy S series + versions and the Ultra versions, augmenting Samsung's flagship offerings. Referring to the prices of the Galaxy S24 series, the S24+ started at 6,999 yuan, and the S24 Ultra at 9,699 yuan. The Slim model's price can be set between these two, covering additional price segments.

In summary, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim is positioned higher than the S25+ and second only to the Ultra, with an estimated price range expected to reach the 8,000 yuan mark. Conversely, the iPhone 17 Air will replace the previous Plus model, but its camera configuration may seem somewhat "minimalist"...
