On July 19th, Xiaomi held a new product launch event in Beijing, where Lei Jun not only shared his journey towards automobile manufacturing but also introduced two flagship products: Xiaomi MIX Fold 4 and Xiaomi MIX Flip. Additionally, they unveiled several other significant new products such as the Xiaomi Band 9, Redmi K70 Supreme Edition, and Xiaomi Watch S4 Sport.

Lei Tech (ID: leitech) was invited to cover the event, and without further ado, let's dive into the product introductions.
Xiaomi MIX Fold 4: Lightweight and User-Friendly
First up is Xiaomi's fourth foldable phone, the Xiaomi MIX Fold 4. Last year's MIX Fold 3 received positive reviews from the Lei Tech editorial team due to its perfect combination of consumer-focused configurations and lightweight design.

The Xiaomi MIX Fold 4 continues this trend, weighing in at just 226g and measuring 9.49mm thick when folded, with a single-side thickness of just 4.59mm when unfolded. This is thanks to Xiaomi's proprietary Dragonbone Hinge 2.0 structure, which reduces overall thickness, width, weight, and waterdrop arc length by more than 10% compared to the previous generation, while the three-stage linkage structure further reduces the overall volume by 34%.

Some users may worry that a thinner hinge could compromise durability. To address this, Xiaomi equips it with 1800MPa ultra-high-strength steel, accounting for 82.6% of the hinge's overall composition. Additionally, Xiaomi uses highly expensive T800H high-strength carbon fiber material to cover the hinge floating plate, screen backing plate, and mid-frame battery compartment backing plate, making the Xiaomi MIX Fold both lightweight and durable.
In terms of specifications, last year's Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 was top-tier in hardware parameters, and this generation continues that legacy.
The Xiaomi MIX Fold 4 is equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the most powerful flagship processor in the Android market, ensuring theoretical performance is unquestionable.
Both the inner and outer displays reach flagship standards: 418ppi, 1700nit global brightness, 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 2160Hz PWM+DC dimming. The only difference is the inner screen's size of 7.98 inches and the outer screen's size of 6.56 inches.
Water resistance has also been upgraded from IP68 to the higher IP8X level.
Other specifications include a Leica quad-camera setup, four Xiaomi Surge T1 signal enhancement chips, bidirectional satellite communication, a 5100mAh battery, 50W wireless charging, and a series of flagship features.

Regarding pricing, the Xiaomi MIX Fold 4's starting price remains the same as the previous generation:
The 12+256GB version is priced at 8999 yuan;
The 16+512GB version is priced at 9999 yuan;
The top-spec version is priced at 10999 yuan (16+1TB).
Sales will commence at 10 AM on July 23rd.

Xiaomi MIX Flip: No Longer a "Pretty but Useless Gadget"
The second product announced at today's event, and Xiaomi's first small foldable phone, is the focus. Since it's small, its dimensions are crucial. Xiaomi states that the Xiaomi MIX Flip weighs just 192g and measures 7.8mm thick when unfolded, making it thinner and lighter than most straight phones on the market.

The Xiaomi MIX Flip sports a 6.86-inch inner screen and a 4.01-inch outer screen. Despite their size difference, both screens offer comparable parameters: 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, CSOT C8+ screen material, 460ppi, 1600nit global brightness, etc., ensuring a seamless transition between screens.

To make this 4-inch "large" screen more practical, Xiaomi has adapted over 200 daily apps, equipped it with a narrow-slit earpiece and independent mic, and AI XiaoAI Assistant, allowing users to complete various daily tasks without using the inner screen.
In terms of hardware, the Xiaomi MIX Flip is the first small foldable phone to be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, along with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, making it the most powerful small foldable phone in terms of theoretical performance.

According to Xiaomi's data, the Xiaomi MIX Flip maintains around 55fps in games like Genshin Impact, Honor of Kings, and Game for Peace (Honor of Kings at 119fps), effectively dispelling the myth that small foldable phones are inherently underpowered.
Interestingly, Xiaomi managed to fit a 4780mAh battery into such a compact body, even larger than the Xiaomi 14. Unfortunately, the Xiaomi MIX Flip lacks wireless charging but supports 67W wired charging.

In terms of imaging, the Xiaomi MIX Flip's rear camera module features two high-resolution sensors: a 50MP Leica primary camera and a 2x telephoto lens with floating focus, leveraging the foldable form factor to offer unique shooting and framing techniques.

Pricing-wise, the Xiaomi MIX Flip starts at:
5999 yuan for the 12+256GB version;
6499 yuan for the 16+512GB version;
7299 yuan for the top-spec 16+1TB version.
Sales will commence at 10 AM on July 23rd.

Compared to the MIX Fold 4, it's evident that Xiaomi places more emphasis on the new member, the MIX Flip, which meets public expectations in terms of specifications and pricing. It's clear that Xiaomi has a unique understanding of small foldable phones, choosing to address pain points and make improvements for specific user groups.
Redmi K70 Supreme Edition: The Performance Monster Remains with Redmi
The Supreme Edition has become a staple of the Redmi K series. While each generation brings minor chip upgrades, the Redmi K70 Supreme Edition sees significant improvements across the board, potentially making it the most comprehensive Redmi phone yet.
(Image source: Xiaomi official)
In terms of hardware, the Redmi K70 Supreme Edition is equipped with MediaTek's latest Dimensity 9300+ processor, scoring over 2.38 million on AnTuTu, ranking first in the Android camp. This powerful performance allows the Redmi K70 Supreme Edition to run mobile games smoothly at high graphics settings, making it a top choice for gamers.
To further unleash the processor's power, Redmi equips it with its proprietary Super Frame and Super Resolution Concurrent Technology, enhancing graphics and frame rates in demanding games like Genshin Impact and Collapse: Zero, while an advanced cooling system ensures longer gaming sessions.
Interestingly, Xiaomi also provides the Redmi K70 Supreme Edition with a high-quality flagship four-sided bezel-less straight screen, making it look unlike a phone priced at just over 2000 yuan.
The screen specifications include a third-generation 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, Xiaomi Green Screen Eye Protection technology, flicker-free DC dimming, and harder Xiaomi Dragon Glass.

Other specifications include a massive 5500mAh battery with 120W wired charging that fully charges in 24 minutes, an upgraded 50MP IMX906 sensor primary camera with Xiaomi AISP for improved photography, and IP68 water resistance for enhanced durability.

Pricing for the Redmi K70 Supreme Edition is as follows:
2599 yuan for the 12+256GB version;
2899 yuan for the 12+512GB version;
3199 yuan for the 16+512GB version;
3599 yuan for the 16+1TB version.
Overall, it meets Lei Tech's expectations.

Finally, two products that Lei Tech is particularly interested in: the Xiaomi Band 9 and Xiaomi Watch S4 Sport. The former, with its upgraded features over the Xiaomi Band 8, such as more precise sleep monitoring and cooperation with Peking University Third Hospital for sleep respiratory risk health research technology, and ceramic body design for a more comfortable wearing experience, speaks for itself.
(Image source: Xiaomi official)
The latter represents a "comeback" for Xiaomi's smartwatch, focusing on outdoor attributes. It features a one-piece titanium metal body for lightweight durability, and front and back cover blue glass for enhanced robustness.

More interestingly, Xiaomi Watch S4 Sport has partnered with the professional team Suunto to provide more comprehensive and professional motion algorithms.

The Xiaomi Band 9 starts at 249 yuan, the NFC version at 299 yuan, and the Ceramic Special Edition (NFC) at 349 yuan;
The Xiaomi Watch S4 Sport starts at 1999 yuan, with the Titanium Milanese Strap Edition priced at 2599 yuan.
Both new products are now available for purchase.
In summary, Xiaomi's multiple products launched tonight continue to embody Xiaomi's characteristics, offering excellent value for money, and stabilizing Xiaomi's core business while it focuses on automobile manufacturing. Among them, Xiaomi Watch S4 Sport particularly interests Lei Tech, with its outstanding design, lightweight wearing experience, and professional motion algorithms, potentially making Lei Tech switch from Apple Watch to Xiaomi's ecosystem.
The rest of the new products also enrich user choices and make an already competitive market even more "interesting." The fierce competition among them will spawn even more exciting battles, and we can't wait to see what unfolds.
