Fast Technology news on October 9: MediaTek officially launched the new generation flagship chip Dimensity 9400 today.

The new product is built using TSMC's second-generation 3nm process, the first time for Android to use 3nm. Paired with the second-generation full big core architecture, it easily breaks the 3 million mark on AnTuTu benchmarks and will be first launched on the vivo X200 series.

The CPU features a single Cortex-X925 supercore with a clock speed of up to 3.62GHz, three Cortex-X4 supercores, and four Cortex-A720 big cores.

Using PC-grade Armv9 architecture, it is the first to support 10.7Gbps LPDDR5X memory, which is currently known as the fastest mobile phone memory globally.

The GPU integrates the flagship 12-core Immortalis-G925, which offers a 40% improvement over the previous-generation Dimensity 9300 while reducing power consumption by 44%. It is the first to feature 3A-level ray tracing technology with the OMM Ultra Light Engine and Arm Precision Super-Res technology.

In terms of AI, it is equipped with the APU 890 and integrates the MediaTek Dimensity Agentic AI Engine. Its multi-modal AI computing capability reaches up to 50 tokens/second, with a maximum text length of 32K tokens.

Generative AI on the device side can produce text, images, and even video, with vivo being the first in the industry to introduce mobile phone-generated video technology.

For imaging, the Dimensity 9400 is equipped with the flagship Imagiq 1090 ISP, supporting Dimensity full-focal-length HDR technology, Dimensity silky smooth zoom technology, 8K full-focal-length Dolby Vision HDR video recording, and Dimensity AI directional sound pickup technology.

For connectivity, the Dimensity 9400 features the Dimensity 5G efficient AI model, supporting a 4nm Wi-Fi/Bluetooth combo chip for wireless connectivity, reducing daily power consumption by 50%.

It supports tri-band concurrent Wi-Fi 7 with a peak rate of up to 7.3Gbps and an extended signal coverage range of 30 meters.

It supports dual-Bluetooth converged BLR technology, extending the maximum connection distance to 1500 meters. It will be the first to launch kilometer-range communication technology on the vivo X200 series, enabling communication within a kilometer range via Bluetooth even in areas without signal or network coverage.
