According to media reports on October 14th by Fast Technology, foreign capital is rapidly withdrawing from Samsung Electronics, and its share price has fallen to the "50,000 point" mark for the first time in one year and seven months.

Data from the Korea Exchange shows that from the 3rd of last month to the 11th of this month, foreign capital has reduced its holdings of Samsung Electronics for 23 consecutive trading days, with a cumulative sales amount of up to 10.6593 trillion won (approximately 55.656 billion yuan).

Samsung Electronics' share price plummeted by 20.3% from 74,400 won to 59,300 won, and its market value shrank from 444 trillion won to 354 trillion won, evaporating nearly 90 trillion won (approximately 469.924 billion yuan).

At the same time, the shareholding ratio of foreign capital has also decreased significantly, from 56.02% in August to 53.75% in September, a decrease of 2.27 percentage points, marking the largest decline since 2004.

The foreign capital shareholding ratio of competitor SK Hynix increased to 54%, surpassing Samsung Electronics for the first time since September last year.

Foreign capital's optimism towards SK Hynix may be partly due to its exclusive supply of fourth-generation HBM3 to NVIDIA and the start of supply of fifth-generation HBM3E 8-layer products.

In contrast, Samsung Electronics is still conducting quality tests and preparing to deliver fifth-generation HBM3E 8-layer and 12-layer products to NVIDIA.

Some analysts have pointed out that the withdrawal of foreign capital may be related to Samsung Electronics' competitiveness in the high-end memory chip market, especially in its competition with SK Hynix, where Samsung Electronics' leading position is being challenged.
