At last night's Honor launch event, in addition to the new generation of X60 series phones, the all-new Honor Tablet GT Pro was also unveiled, featuring the third-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s processor and a 3K OLED display.

One day prior to the launch event (on the evening of October 15), Apple suddenly listed its new iPad mini equipped with the A17 Pro chip on its official website, priced starting at 3,999 yuan, and scheduled for official sale on October 23. News of this quickly sparked countless discussions among netizens about the new iPad mini.

For a long time, there has been a prevailing sentiment in the industry regarding tablets: there are two types of tablets in the market – iPad and everything else. Now, with the Honor Tablet GT Pro, which was launched almost simultaneously with the iPad mini 7, what are its standout features? And can it reverse the entrenched perceptions about Android tablets?

After the launch event, we immediately got our hands on the Honor tablet, and here are some of its key specifications.

In terms of design, the Honor Tablet GT Pro is available in three colors: Moonlight White, Starlight Black, and GT Blue. With a body thickness of just 5.8mm and a weight of approximately 555g, it is sleek, lightweight, and portable. The version we have is in GT Blue.

The most immediately noticeable feature is the 12.3-inch gaming display, which is the only tablet in its class to feature a 3K 144Hz OLED screen. It boasts a screen-to-body ratio of 92%, a pixel density of 290PPI, support for 1.07 billion colors, and a peak brightness of up to 1600 nits. Additionally, it supports a high refresh rate of 144Hz and a touch sampling rate of 180Hz, along with 4320Hz PWM high-frequency dimming, natural eye protection, and sleep-aid display functions. This ensures smooth operation and response while effectively reducing the impact of blue light radiation.

In terms of core performance, the Honor Tablet GT Pro is powered by the third-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s chip, fabricated using TSMC's 4nm process technology and commonly found in mid-range smartphones this year.

The chip comprises 1 X4 core running at 3.0GHz, 4 A720 cores at 2.8GHz, and 3 A520 cores at 2.0GHz. On the AnTuTu benchmarking platform, it scores around 1.7 million points. In Geekbench 6 tests, it achieves a single-core score of approximately 1958 and a multi-core score of 5099, closely resembling the performance of the Snapdragon 8 Gen2.

In our tests, "Honor of Kings" supported 120 frames per second (fps) at maximum graphics settings, maintaining a stable frame rate of around 117 fps. However, there were noticeable frame rate fluctuations during team fights, likely due to software compatibility issues. We look forward to further optimization in future system updates.

For multimedia experiences, the tablet is equipped with an 8-speaker system and has obtained IMAX Enhanced and Hi-Res Audio certifications, ensuring immersive audio for movie watching, music listening, and gaming. Our tests confirmed its excellent audio quality.

Even more impressive is the battery life. The Honor Tablet GT Pro houses a large 10050mAh battery and supports 66W fast charging. According to official data, it takes just 102 minutes to fully charge the tablet from 0%, significantly alleviating battery anxiety for users.

Regarding photography, the Honor Tablet GT Pro may not rival high-end camera equipment, but its camera setup meets basic needs. The rear 13-megapixel camera captures rich details and vibrant colors in both landscape and daily shots, while the front 9-megapixel camera provides clear images for video calls and selfies. For non-professional photographers, these cameras are sufficient for most scenarios.

Furthermore, the Honor Tablet GT Pro runs on MagicOS 8.0.1, which not only optimizes the device's imaging capabilities but also introduces a host of convenient features. For instance, Smart Scene Recognition automatically adjusts camera settings based on the shooting environment for optimal results. The built-in photo editing tools allow users to easily retouch and share their photos.

MagicOS 8.0.1 also offers efficient file management and multitasking capabilities, enhancing both work and entertainment experiences on the tablet. Features like split-screen mode enable users to view documents and participate in video conferences simultaneously, significantly boosting productivity. Meanwhile, system-level intelligent power-saving technology ensures extended battery life even after prolonged use.

As a versatile tablet, the Honor Tablet GT Pro excels in both entertainment and productivity. It integrates advanced AI conferencing technology to optimize video and audio quality for remote collaboration. Moreover, it comes with powerful document editing tools and convenient note-taking apps, streamlining daily work tasks.

Paired with the all-new Honor Magic-Pencil 3, the Honor Tablet GT Pro further enhances creativity and productivity. The Magic-Pencil 3 supports 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity, accurately capturing every stroke for a natural writing experience akin to pen and paper. Its low-latency technology ensures smooth writing and drawing, making it ideal for quick note-taking or artistic creations.

The Honor Tablet GT Pro seamlessly integrates with PCs, allowing users to easily transfer files between devices and even use the tablet as an extended display, expanding workspace and enhancing multitasking capabilities. These features make the Honor Tablet GT Pro an ideal choice for business professionals and creative individuals, providing robust support whether in the office or on the go.

Moreover, the Honor Tablet GT Pro caters to diverse user needs with multiple storage configurations at competitive prices. The base model with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage is priced at 2,499 yuan, while upgrading to 256GB storage costs an additional 200 yuan. For those seeking higher performance, the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant is priced at 2,999 yuan, and the top-end 16GB RAM + 512GB storage option retails for 3,399 yuan.

Currently, the Honor Tablet GT Pro is available in various configurations on Honor's official store and major authorized e-commerce platforms.
