According to a report by Kuai Technology on November 4, the official openKylin announced today that the new beta version of WeChat, WeChat 4.0, is now available on the openKylin software store.

After the update, the WeChat Linux version will be functionally consistent and updated in sync with the beta versions for Windows and macOS under the cross-platform architecture.

Officials stated that the WeChat Linux 4.0 beta version has been completely redesigned, achieving breakthroughs not only in architecture but also in full functional alignment across different platforms.

The new version of WeChat supports message recall, browsing and refreshing Moments, a revamped contacts interface, and the ability to switch between dark and light modes.

It is understood that openKylin 1.0 was officially released on July 5, 2023, marking China's first open-source desktop operating system. This signifies China's capability to independently select operating system components and independently build operating systems, filling a gap in this field in China.

openKylin 1.0 is a domestically produced open-source operating system developed through the collaborative efforts of many developers by opening the operating system source code.

Currently, the system is compatible with personal computers, tablets, and educational development boards supporting the X86, ARM, and RISC-V architectures.
