Massive Video Removal from Dongchedi! The Zunjie Brake Controversy: Who's Evading the Truth?

On the very day the tri-departmental investigation team arrived, a significant number of videos on Dongchedi were rendered "invisible."

On October 15, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Cyberspace Administration of China, and the State Administration for Market Regulation jointly announced the formation of an investigation team to scrutinize the brake pedal fracture issue in the Zunjie V800. That same evening, netizens noticed that the primary test video of the Zunjie V800, previously published by Dongchedi, had vanished from multiple platforms, including Weibo, Bilibili, and Douyin. The WeChat Official Account displayed the message: "Playback unavailable due to violations."

According to searches conducted by a reporter from Southern Metropolis Daily, the main video titled "Three Zunjie Brake Pedals Fractured" was no longer accessible on Dongchedi's Bilibili account, and the Weibo test video by the tester "Dongchedi's Big Corgi Dongmen" had also disappeared. More notably, some review videos entirely unrelated to Zunjie were similarly unavailable for playback.

This was no system glitch; it was a deliberate removal. Dongchedi's official customer service responded with a mere sentence: "No relevant notice has been received yet."

The removal of these videos does not signify the end of the controversy but rather its intensification.

Previously, both sides held diametrically opposed views, with the core conflict revolving around the test conditions. However, these backgrounds have already been thoroughly discussed. Today, the only pertinent question is: Why were the videos removed?

If the tests adhered to regulations and the evidence stands up to scrutiny, why were they deleted? If there were flaws in the tests, why, as an evaluation agency, did they not dare to come forward with a public explanation instead of opting for silence and removal?

The "Network Evaluation Activity Norms" introduced in June 2026 explicitly mandate that tests involving product functionality and performance should be entrusted to legally qualified inspection and testing institutions, with raw data retained to ensure result traceability. Whether Dongchedi's tests complied with these regulations has become an unavoidable inquiry for the investigation team.

Investors of JAC Motors have directly questioned on interactive platforms: If Dongchedi failed to fulfill its qualification obligations in accordance with the norms, why is the company still limited to passive explanations?

However, issues with the evaluation agency do not automatically absolve the product of any problems.

Just because a problematic entity points out flaws in another does not mean the latter is blameless. Both sides are under suspicion, and both must withstand the investigation.

The real intrigue does not lie in who removed the videos but in the three sealed vehicles.

Dongchedi self-funded the purchase of six brand-new Zunjie V800s. After testing three, the remaining three were sealed and stored in a warehouse under the supervision of a notary office, ready for public retesting at any time.

With the arrival of the tri-departmental investigation team, the opportunity for retesting has arisen. If the investigation team believes there are issues with the test methods, they can reverify according to standard procedures; if they deem the test methods reasonable, they must address the contradiction between static and dynamic conditions.

Removing videos cannot resolve the issue; only retesting can.

When Yu Chengdong shared Zunjie's statement, he remarked, "Justice may be delayed, but it will never be denied." On October 16, JAC Motors' stock hit the daily limit, closing at 22.37 yuan per share.

However, true justice is not reflected in a stock limit but in a public, transparent, and reproducible retest.

Do you believe the removal of a large number of videos from Dongchedi stems from guilt or regulatory risk mitigation? Will the three sealed vehicles ultimately undergo a public live-streamed retest? Share your thoughts in the comments section.
