Today marks the grand opening of Xiaomi's Shenzhen Headquarters, marked by lively lion dances to commemorate the occasion. Lu Weibing and the company's core management team were on hand to unveil the state-of-the-art facility and celebrate this exciting new chapter.
Designed around the innovative "Xiaomi Cube" concept, Xiaomi's Shenzhen building stands tall in Nanshan Houhai, boasting a spacious construction area of 46,000 square meters. Nestled by the sea, it offers breathtaking panoramic views of the azure waters and the sky above.
Occupying the first and second floors of the building is the world's largest Xiaomi Home – Xiaomi Shenzhen Building Automotive Integration Store, spanning over 1,000 square meters and opening its doors simultaneously with the headquarters. Inside, visitors can marvel at popular models like the SU7, SU7 Ultra, and YU7, alongside "people-car-home full-ecology" products, providing an immersive experience of human-car interaction scenarios.
Xiaomi President Lu Weibing emphasized that the Shenzhen headquarters will spearhead advancements in full-scenario technology and product ecology. It will be instrumental in bolstering software capabilities, accelerating talent acquisition, and fostering technological innovation, leveraging Shenzhen's robust industrial landscape.
Wang Teng, General Manager of the REDMI brand, disclosed that the Shenzhen team is behind the development of the Redmi K series, with new models actively in the pipeline.
Back in 2019, Xiaomi sealed cooperation agreements with Shenzhen City and Nanshan District to propel the Shenzhen headquarters project forward. Since then, Xiaomi's Shenzhen workforce has swelled from 700 to 2,100 employees, underscoring the company's commitment to this strategic layout.
For Shenzhen, Xiaomi's new headquarters adds a significant boost to its science and innovation corridor, further solidifying its position as a hub of technological advancement.
