According to Fast Technology on September 12, iPhone users have long been frustrated by signal and internet speed issues, but this year Apple has brought significant improvements.
According to actual test data from the speed test platform Speedsmart, the 5G download speed of the iPhone 16 Pro has increased by up to 26% under the three major US carriers' networks, with an average download speed exceeding 400 Mbps.
In addition, the upload speeds of all three carriers have increased by 22.1%, with an average speed now stably exceeding 30 Mbps.
This is primarily attributed to the enhancements in the Qualcomm Snapdragon X75 baseband, Qualcomm's latest generation of 5G baseband, which achieves a downlink transmission speed of up to 7.5Gbps, setting a new global record for the fastest 5G transmission speed in the Sub-6GHz frequency band.
Beyond its peak rate improvements, the Snapdragon X75 also supports Qualcomm's second-generation DSDA technology, enabling dual-SIM dual-standby and further supporting dual data connections, unlocking more dual-SIM usage scenarios for terminal devices.
Furthermore, the Snapdragon X75 supports 5G-Advanced (5G-A), also known as 5.5G, for the first time. 5G-Advanced is an enhanced version of 5G, offering faster speeds, support for more frequency bands, and increased automation and intelligence compared to 5G.
Currently, Huawei and domestic carriers are actively promoting 5.5G technology, which is expected to bring a 10-fold improvement in network performance, achieving downlink gigabit and uplink terabit peak capabilities.
However, Apple has not yet mentioned whether it supports domestic 5.5G networks, and actual testing will be required after the product is launched.
Judging from Apple's past attitudes, its follow-up of the latest communication technologies has always been slower than other manufacturers, such as the addition of Wi-Fi 7 support only this year.
