According to QuickTech News on September 27, Taobao announced today that it now supports various payment methods, including Alipay and WeChat Pay. Simply update the app to the latest version to experience these new options.

After testing by QuickTech, we found that after selecting the desired product, users can choose "WeChat Pay" on the payment page to complete the transaction.

It's important to note that to use WeChat Pay, you must first update the Taobao app to the latest version, as the older versions do not currently support this payment method.

Early in September, Taobao and Tmall announced that to enhance the shopping experience for consumers, Taobao planned to add WeChat Pay functionality. Following the conclusion of public feedback, platform rules will be adjusted, affecting all Taobao and Tmall merchants.

This marks a significant step forward in the interoperability between Alibaba and Tencent, moving from closed systems towards greater openness.
