Amid escalating global investments in AI computing power, upgrades and expansions of data center infrastructure are fueling a rapid surge in demand for high-speed optical modules. Dongtian’s products are strategically positioned in the upstream core segment of this industrial chain.

According to a research report by Guosheng Securities, optical isolators are indispensable components for 800G/1.6T high-speed optical modules, particularly in silicon photonics solutions. Dongtian has fully established its optical isolator product line and has commenced mass shipments, continuously scaling up production capacity to bolster delivery capabilities.

Regarding optical filters, Guosheng Securities highlights that they are pivotal components of wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) technology. Manufacturing high-end optical filters entails hundreds of layers of thin-film deposition, demanding extremely high precision in coating. Leveraging its roots in optical coating technology, Dongtian enjoys a technological edge in the WDM filter segment, with its high-speed optical module filters now entering a phase of rapid growth.

Dongtian’s order growth is closely tied to industry demand. The company revealed that, at present, industry production capacity bottlenecks are primarily on the production equipment front. However, Dongtian has proactively planned equipment procurement, with various production machines arriving on schedule and production capacity steadily increasing. Meanwhile, in response to supply chain tensions for upstream components, the company is actively mitigating these challenges by diversifying procurement channels, forging long-term stable partnerships with core suppliers, and pre-positioning inventory to safeguard delivery capabilities.

Dongtian stated that, due to its effective supply chain management and inventory contingency measures, its current production and operations have not been significantly disrupted. Nevertheless, from an industry standpoint, if core upstream materials remain scarce, there could still be potential constraints on the company’s subsequent production capacity and order fulfillment, necessitating ongoing monitoring.

From a product standpoint, Dongtian has established a comprehensive product matrix spanning access networks, backbone networks, and data center transmission applications, with notable expertise in high-end device areas such as optical isolators, WDM filters, and components.

The 2025 annual report underscores this growth trajectory. Dongtian achieved annual revenue of 877 million yuan, marking a year-on-year increase of 46.90%; net profit attributable to shareholders reached 101 million yuan, up 80.20% year-on-year. Among these, the imaging optical components business generated revenue of 583 million yuan, a 26.82% year-on-year increase; the communication optical components business recorded revenue of 271 million yuan, surging by 118.46% year-on-year, doubling in growth and serving as a key driver of the company’s performance.

Dongtian employs a dual-drive model in its product structure, combining “imaging optics as a stable foundation + communication optics as a robust engine.” The imaging optics business capitalizes on the growing adoption of spin-coated filters in domestic smartphones and order growth spurred by increased industry concentration in the filter segment, providing a stable cash flow that acts as a ballast.

The communication optics business, doubling in growth, propels overall performance. Facing periodic adjustments in the consumer electronics end market, the company stated that it will continue to refine its business strategy, focusing on the core optoelectronic communication sector while steadily managing its consumer electronics business to hedge against single-industry cycle fluctuation risks.

Dongtian highlighted in the research that the optoelectronic communication field presents triple hardcore barriers in equipment, processes, and professional talent. From a production line compatibility standpoint, communication-grade precision production lines, due to their stringent standards in cleanliness, precision control, and process stability, can partially accommodate consumer electronics-grade production after targeted process adjustments. Conversely, consumer electronics production lines typically struggle to meet the rigorous demands for reliability, consistency, and environmental adaptability of optoelectronic communication products, making cross-industry modifications challenging.

More crucially, for cross-industry companies venturing into the optoelectronic communication market, merely rebuilding dedicated production lines is insufficient; they must also navigate the extremely stringent supply chain access certifications of leading clients, a process that often spans 1-2 years or even longer. Consequently, new entrants are unlikely to establish effective production capacity and large-scale supply capabilities in the near term.

Dongtian has deep-rooted expertise in the optoelectronic communication field, with products encompassing access networks, backbone networks, and data center transmission applications. The technical barriers and client certification barriers for cross-industry entry collectively forge its competitive moat.
