On the evening of October 8, Zunjie Auto issued a statement addressing concerns related to the brake pedal bracket base. Concurrently, Dongchedi also provided clarification on the actual testing conducted on the Zunjie V800.
In its official statement, Zunjie Auto emphasized: "The braking system of Zunjie Auto has undergone comprehensive development and rigorous verification processes, adhering to standards that surpass both national (GB 21670-2025 / GB 7258-2026) and industry (QC/T 788-2018) benchmarks. Since the initial delivery of vehicles, there have been no reported incidents of brake pedal bracket base fractures in real-world user scenarios."

Zunjie further stated, "User safety remains our utmost priority. Even under non-standard, extreme testing conditions, we strive to provide our users with an enhanced safety margin. We are committed to further refining the design of this component and offering complimentary upgrade options to our existing customers. Simultaneously, we will conduct a thorough review and reinforcement of our design verification processes, testing boundaries, and production quality management for related components, continually enhancing our safety framework."
On the morning of the same day, a video released by Dongchedi depicted a scenario where, during a 100km/h-to-0 emergency braking test involving three Zunjie V800 vehicles, the brake pedal brackets experienced physical fractures. This resulted in the pedals detaching and the vehicles losing their foot brake functionality, relying solely on P-gear emergency braking. Consequently, the braking distance extended from the normal 38 meters to approximately 140 meters.
That day, topics such as "Zunjie V800 brake pedal bracket fracture" dominated Weibo's trending list. In the wake of this news, JAC Motors' stock price experienced a sharp decline, closing at 24.72 yuan per share.
Following Dongchedi's release of the pertinent test video, numerous queries arose regarding the test's compliance. Some voices raised concerns about whether the test involved continuous, aggressive heavy braking, a scenario not typically encountered under daily road national standard conditions.
In response, according to Jiemian News, relevant personnel from Dongchedi clarified that the 100-kilometer braking experiment does not constitute an extreme condition, as many drivers encounter similar situations during high-speed driving. It is, in fact, one of the fundamental tests for automotive evaluations. The brake pedal bracket fractures observed in the featured models during this program were unprecedented, with similar fractures occurring in the same location across three consecutive experiments, posing significant safety risks.
Regarding the pedal force recorded when the brake pedal brackets of the three test vehicles fractured, Dongchedi refuted rumors of violent testing, stating that it was merely normal heavy braking of the brake pedal. The '4589N' pedal force value that garnered significant attention from netizens was, in fact, a residual image caused by the discrepancy in refresh rates between the high-speed camera and the liquid crystal display of the testing equipment during the capture of experimental footage. The actual peak data was 1612N, with the pedal force rapidly diminishing after reaching the peak. However, the '4589N' figure was screenshotted and circulated as a rumor.
