On October 13, following Zunjie Automobile's release of the "Statement on the Brake Pedal Testing of Zunjie V800," Dongchedi tester "Dongche Dakeji Dongmen" took to Weibo to express skepticism, noting that static loading and dynamic loading cannot be directly compared.

Earlier that morning, Zunjie Automobile had issued its statement, revealing that a nationally accredited third-party testing agency had inspected the brake pedal of the Zunjie V800. The tests confirmed that the V800 met industry standards, with no cracks or damage observed even after being subjected to a longitudinal force of up to 3000N.

According to the latest media reports, the testing was carried out by the testing center of China Automotive Engineering Research Institute Co., Ltd.

This news undoubtedly provided a boost to JAC Motors, which has been at the center of public debate.

During the morning trading session on the same day, JAC Motors (600418, SH) opened 2% lower but quickly rebounded, at one point surging nearly 9%.

However, as reported by Beijing News Beike Finance, Meng Wei, deputy chief engineer of vehicle products at an automaker, highlighted that "The national standard does not specify that the force must be applied at a rapid pace. Applying force gradually to 2000N over one or two seconds is vastly different from 'slamming' 2000N onto the pedal in a fraction of a second during an emergency. These are two distinct experiments, and the forces that the brake pedal must endure differ accordingly. The bracket designer must take this into account."

An Xin, a product structure design engineer, offered another viewpoint: "The forces acting on the brake pedal vary depending on whether the vehicle is stationary or in motion. Zunjie did not clarify whether the test was conducted under static or dynamic conditions. The speed at which the force is applied—whether rapidly or slowly—is also crucial."

On October 12, market rumors suggested that Seres was considering producing Hongmeng Zhixing's ultra-luxury SUV, implying that Zunjie was abandoning its SUV plans. In response, an insider at JAC Motors refuted these claims as false.

Based on previously disclosed information, Zunjie's new SUV is anticipated to launch in early 2027.

On October 12, JAC Motors released its production and sales report for September, showing that the company produced 32,533 vehicles, a year-on-year decrease of 2.17%, and sold 27,201 vehicles, a year-on-year decrease of 18.69%. Specifically, the production of new energy passenger vehicles was 3,178, a year-on-year decrease of 13.62%, and sales were 2,932, a year-on-year decrease of 18.85%.

JAC Motors is scheduled to release its third-quarter report for 2026 on October 31.
