According to Fast Tech on September 26, OpenAI has undergone a significant personnel shakeup, with the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of OpenAI, Mira Murati, announcing her resignation in a lengthy post today, leaving the company where she has worked for six and a half years.
Murati stated that after much consideration, she made the difficult decision to leave OpenAI to give herself time and space for personal exploration. Her top priority at present is to ensure a smooth transition.
Regarding Murati's resignation, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman thanked her for her contributions, adding that OpenAI will soon provide detailed information on the transition plan.
Murati is a key figure at OpenAI. After Altman was briefly ousted last November, Murati served as interim CEO.
It is worth noting that some media outlets have reported that Murati may have been the instigator of the internal power struggle, as she expressed concerns about Altman's management to board members last October.
It is understood that Murati is the 11th executive to leave OpenAI this year, following the resignation of OpenAI's co-founder and Chief Scientist Ilya Sutskever in May.
