With the in-depth exploration of the regularity and unknown logic of diverse heterogeneous industrial data, industrial AI, which is good at "interpreting" data, is becoming an "invisible hand" in smart factories, simplifying and streamlining complex and cumbersome manufacturing processes. On September 23, industry leaders from companies such as Getronics Dongzhi, Phoenix Contact, ABB, Delta, and Siemens attended the 2024 MM·New Automation Forum, jointly hosted by the China Machinery Industry Information Research Institute and MM Modern Manufacturing, under the theme of "Building New Productivity to Boost Industrial Sustainability." They discussed the driving factors behind smart manufacturing efficiency improvements and the practical implementation of advanced technology integration.
Yang Li, Marketing Director of Getronics Dongzhi, attended and delivered a keynote speech titled "AI-Driven Industry, Digital Intelligence Empowers Manufacturing." She provided an in-depth analysis of AI technology's application scenarios in the manufacturing industry and offered new insights on how the semiconductor industry can accelerate business success based on AI technology.
Yang Li shared that on the supply side, integrating AI technology into the industrial PaaS layer leads to the reshaping of the algorithm platform and the industrial large model platform's self-iterative and endogenous growth capabilities. The integration of industrial AI software and hardware applications, including vision-based algorithms, statistical analysis algorithms, operations research optimization algorithms, and simulation + control optimization algorithms, enables new rounds of growth in smart manufacturing for business scenarios such as quality optimization, production lifecycle management, and production efficiency forecasting. The industrial large model platform has become a "sharp tool" for assisting IT+OT engineers in enhancing their R&D capabilities, improving productivity through industrial software performance and process knowledge base tools, and forging new productivity. In July of this year, IDC released its report titled "Progress and Prospects of Industrial Large Model Applications, 2024," pointing out that the application of industrial large models has penetrated into various aspects of industry. Among them, knowledge management/knowledge Q&A, data assistant/data Q&A, professional content production, and visual safety monitoring are currently the most explored directions.
Specifically, Getronics Dongzhi's industrial software and hardware applications integrated with AI technology are accelerating changes in business scenarios and production tools. The production and operation modalities in the manufacturing industry are gradually shifting from big data-assisted decision-making management to AutoML self-decision and self-action, reducing downtime of industrial equipment and operational failures by frontline engineers, significantly lowering loss costs, and pushing the limits of zero operational errors by personnel and zero downtime of equipment in production sites. In Yang Li's view, "AI in Manufacturing" has brought the dream of high-quality development in the pan-semiconductor industry closer to reality. In empowering practices that address specialized issues in smart manufacturing through AI technology, Getronics Dongzhi has cumulatively served over 2,000 pan-semiconductor factories, achieving AI-powered results in various scenarios such as production anomalies and yield monitoring. In a project for a pan-semiconductor industry client, Getronics Dongzhi implemented an overall solution based on the industrial AI platform for yield monitoring, yield early warning, automatic analysis, reverse control optimization, and knowledge precipitation, helping the client save approximately RMB 100,000 in monthly labor costs and reduce defective loss costs by about 10%.
In the pursuit of high-quality reform on the supply side, Getronics Dongzhi's insights go far beyond what most people might imagine. At the event, leading companies such as Getronics Dongzhi, Mitsubishi Electric, Phoenix Contact, and Beckhoff Automation jointly received the "AI Application Innovation Award" presented by the organizers, becoming benchmarks for exploring the integrated application of AI. As a Chinese force driving "new productivity" in the field of industrial intelligence, Getronics Dongzhi has a near-obsessive pursuit of fostering the three endogenous forces of "AI + industrial software + equipment intelligence." Setting benchmarks for the industry and guiding it through the painful process of transformation and upgrading are our driving forces in embracing AI and pursuing disruptive innovation. Follow Getronics Dongzhi and arm your factory's brain with AI technology, propelling smart manufacturing into a new era of high-quality development led by efficiency gains.
