Recently, Swedish manufacturer Alleima announced the acquisition of Endox Feinwerktechnik GmbH & Endox Polska SP.zo.o. (collectively referred to as Endox). This strategic move aims to reinforce Alleima's leadership in the medical sector and foster a forward-thinking integration of the medical industry value chain. Endox, a German manufacturer specializing in medical components for endoscopic applications, is renowned for its nickel-titanium alloy and stainless steel products and components used predominantly in urology, gastroenterology, and endoscopy.

Alleima's strategic positioning in the medical field solidifies its market-leading status.

Göran Björkman, President and CEO of Alleima, stated, "We warmly welcome Endox into our group. Aligned with Alleima's growth and resilience strategy, we focus on continuously expanding into stable and profitable industries, such as the medical industry. This integration will further solidify our leading position in the medical field."

Endox collaborates with medical device companies in the research, development, production, and supply of nickel-titanium alloy and stainless steel products and components primarily used in urology, gastroenterology, and endoscopy. Its product line includes guidewires, polypectomy sleeves, and stone retrieval baskets. Moving forward, Endox's operations will be integrated into Kanthal, a subsidiary of Alleima.

Strengthening complementarity and achieving integration of the medical industry value chain.

By reinforcing mutual complementarity, Alleima's acquisition of Endox enables a forward-looking integration of the medical industry value chain. Endox's product offerings, certifications, and existing customer base will significantly boost Alleima's market share. The combined capabilities and business layout will drive new product development and expand sales territories, integrating production and application capabilities.

Robert Stål, President of Kanthal, remarked, "This acquisition will enable us to enhance our medical services, expand our product line in guidewire and catheter applications through increased expertise, create more value for our customers, and further consolidate our market position."

Headquartered in Dettingen, Germany, Endox was founded in 2001 and employs 90 people. It also operates a manufacturing plant in Bielsko-Biala, Poland. In 2023, Endox reported revenues of approximately SEK 65 million, with an EBIT margin slightly higher than that of Kanthal. Both parties have maintained a low profile and have not disclosed the specific acquisition price.

The transaction is anticipated to be completed in the first quarter of 2025, subject to customary approvals, and is expected to have a positive impact on Alleima's earnings per share.
