Musk emphasized that the humanoid robot will be Tesla's most ambitious project to date. Regarding production, he set ambitious targets: Tesla aims to manufacture thousands of humanoid robots, named Optimus, by 2025 and initiate testing within its factories. He further stated, "Assuming smooth progress, we intend to scale production tenfold by 2026, targeting 50,000 to 100,000 units. By 2027, we aim for another tenfold increase, starting with half a million units." In essence, if Musk's vision unfolds as planned, Optimus production will escalate a hundredfold from 2025 to 2027.

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has issued the "Guiding Opinions on the Innovative Development of Humanoid Robots," outlining that by 2025, China aims to establish a preliminary humanoid robot innovation system, achieve breakthroughs in key technologies, bring complete machine products to an international advanced level, and enable mass production for demonstrations and applications in specialized, manufacturing, and everyday service scenarios. Concurrently, various regions have introduced supportive policies, laying a solid foundation for industrial growth.
