Guoke Micro is vigorously pursuing the R&D of edge AI chip products, notably its 4K AI vision processing chip which boasts low power consumption, minimal latency, and exceptional image clarity.
AI vision chips, or artificial intelligence vision chips, are specialized in efficiently executing vision-related algorithms. Characterized by high energy efficiency, dense computing power, and low power consumption, these chips hold tremendous potential across various sectors including smart security, consumer electronics, autonomous driving, healthcare, and industrial inspection.
Drawn by the promising market outlook, numerous global chip companies have invested in the R&D and production of AI vision chips, notably Intel (USA), NVIDIA (USA), and NXP (Netherlands). NVIDIA's AI vision chips, such as Jetson AGX Orin and DRIVE Thor, have already found applications in autonomous driving scenarios.
In China, the AI vision chip industry is a relative newcomer compared to overseas developed countries. Key players in this domestic market include Megvii Technology, Black Sesame Technology, Huawei Hisilicon, and Guoke Micro. Guoke Micro, in particular, is advancing the R&D of edge AI chip products, with its 4K AI vision processing chip standing out for its low power consumption, minimal latency, and sharp image quality.
AI vision chips exhibit vast application potential across multiple domains, particularly in smart security, consumer electronics, autonomous driving, healthcare, and industrial inspection. With the backing of national policies, the construction of China's social security prevention and control system is gaining momentum. According to the Ministry of Public Security, the number of smart security communities in China reached 336,000 in 2023. Currently, AI vision chips are widely utilized in smart security, supporting applications such as facial recognition, anomaly detection, and risk prediction.
In recent years, China's demand for AI vision chips has surged, fueled by the rapid development of downstream industries. According to the "2025-2030 AI Vision Chip Industry Market In-depth Research and Investment Prospect Prediction Analysis Report" by the Sici Industry Research Center, sales of AI vision chips in China are projected to reach nearly $80 billion in 2024, marking a year-on-year growth of over 20%. It is anticipated that with technological advancements and expanding applications, sales will continue to rise, exceeding $200 billion by 2030.
Nevertheless, China's AI vision chip industry faces several challenges. Firstly, industry standards for AI vision chips are still under development, and product quality needs enhancement. Secondly, core AI vision chip technology is predominantly held by overseas developed countries, with Chinese enterprises lagging in independent R&D capabilities.
Industry analysts from Sici opine that AI vision chips, as a flagship AI chip product, hold immense application potential. As market demand grows, the development pace of China's AI vision chip industry is expected to accelerate further. While numerous issues remain to be addressed, with the refinement of industry standards and technological maturity, the market space for AI vision chips in China is poised for significant expansion.
