It is a well-established notion that independent R&D prowess forms the bedrock of a company's enduring success. With a solid foundation, even temporary setbacks can be overcome. Huawei's journey epitomizes this principle, as it consistently achieves feats that elude its competitors, or if they do, Huawei often beats them to the punch. A prime example is the groundbreaking triple-folding screen phone, the Mate XT. As Huawei prepares to unveil its next-generation model, its competitors remain inactive. Recent online buzz, however, indicates that Samsung will soon follow suit, becoming the second company to introduce a triple-folding screen phone after Huawei.

Nevertheless, these are mere speculations without concrete evidence. Meanwhile, domestic manufacturers have stolen the limelight by showcasing their foldable screen innovations. Surprisingly, it's not one of the big names like Huawei, but TECNO, a brand less recognized in the domestic market, that has captured attention. This revelation has indeed caught many by surprise.

While TECNO might not be a household name in China, it holds a prominent position in the international arena, especially in Africa, where it reigns supreme. Years of thriving in the global market attest to its robust technological backbone. TECNO has now showcased its triple-folding screen phone, the Phantom Ultimate G Fold, ahead of Samsung. The name itself suggests TECNO's ambition to present a dream-worthy product. Visually, the Phantom Ultimate G Fold seems to blend elements of Samsung and Apple.

Firstly, in terms of folding mechanism, TECNO adopts Samsung's G-folding technology, which entails a complete inward fold. Based on user feedback, the G-folding method is preferred for its enhanced drop resistance and better inner screen protection. However, fully inward folding poses higher technical challenges, demanding a flat screen post-folding. The two hinges, with potentially different technical specifications, must work in harmony, adding to the complexity.

Secondly, in design, the Phantom Ultimate G Fold evokes Samsung's foldable screen aesthetic, yet its rear camera setup hints at the iPhone 17 Air. Despite the increased screen area and an additional crease, TECNO expresses confidence, asserting that the screen remains exceptionally flat when unfolded, nearly eliminating the crease visibility. Furthermore, it supports multi-angle hovering, underscoring the high quality of its hinges.

Although not renowned among domestic users, TECNO boasts considerable strength in cutting-edge mobile technologies and stays abreast of trends. It has previously showcased a 5.75mm ultra-thin model with a 5200mAh battery and introduced multiple AI-driven products. TECNO stands as a testament to domestic manufacturers' foray into the international market.

Currently, the TECNO Phantom Ultimate G Fold exists as a concept phone, but hopes are high for its imminent mass production.
