As the first half of 2025 winds down, the Q2 reports from leading PC manufacturers have been unveiled.
Research firm Canalys' statistics reveal a stable ranking in the global PC market for Q2, with Lenovo retaining its top position.
Known as the "unwavering champion" of the PC industry, Lenovo's shipments surpassed 16.97 million units, propelling its market share to a new peak of 25%. This equates to one out of every four computers sold globally being a Lenovo.

HP, placed second, also managed shipments in the tens of millions, yet its annual growth rate of 3.2% pales in comparison to Lenovo's performance. Among the top three, Dell witnessed a year-on-year decline of 3%.
Conversely, Apple and ASUS, trailing Dell, accelerated their growth, outpacing Lenovo in terms of growth rate. Notably, Apple registered a 21.3% increase compared to the same period last year, making it the fastest-growing player on the list.
Apple's ability to achieve over 20% growth this quarter is largely attributed to capitalizing on China's "national subsidy" incentives.
According to a May report by Runto Technology, the new Macbook Air M4, initially launched at a steady pace, sparked consumer enthusiasm after dropping into the 5k price range, leading to a year-on-year monthly sales surge of up to 238%.
Having tasted success, Apple appears poised to venture into the low-cost market. Renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts that Apple intends to introduce cheaper models by integrating the A18 Pro mobile chip into Macbooks by the end of this year or early 2026.
If these rumors prove true, dear readers, would you consider purchasing this affordable Macbook?
