As affordable cafeterias have become a staple in large factories, mobile phone manufacturers are now vying for employee housing to attract top talent.

Following Xiaomi's recent launch of employee apartments in Beijing and Nanjing with a monthly rent of 1,999 yuan, OPPO has unveiled its seaside apartments.

According to Zhou Yibao, head of OPPO's Find series products, OPPO has self-constructed nearly 5,000 seaside apartments adjacent to its new industrial park this year. Fresh university graduates joining the company through campus recruitment can move in immediately, with a mere 7-minute commute to work.

Is the monthly rent comparable to Xiaomi's? The executive disclosed that "a single room can be rented for less than 1,500 yuan."

Based on public information from various media outlets and China Construction First Group, OPPO's high-end talent housing project is situated in the Jiaoziwan area of Dongguan City's Binhai Bay New Area. It was collaboratively built by OPPO's infrastructure team and participating construction units like China Construction First Group.

The entire project spans a construction area of up to 630,000 square meters, with a total investment of approximately 4 billion yuan (around $600 million). In addition to supermarkets, basketball courts, swimming pools, and after-school care centers, the project encompasses 22 high-rise residential towers.

The apartments offer various layouts, including studios, one-bedroom with a living room, two-bedroom with a living room, two-bedroom with two living rooms, and three-bedroom with two living rooms. With floor areas ranging from 25 to 103 square meters, the apartments can accommodate approximately 11,000 workers.

Viewing the broader Binhai Bay area, this talent apartment project is merely the beginning. According to the official website of the Dongguan Binhai New Area, OPPO has directly developed an "Engineers' Paradise" in this region, with a total investment of approximately 10 billion yuan and an area of 930,000 square meters.

Within this paradise, the OPPO Global Computing Power Center and OPPO Intelligent Manufacturing Center are already operational. Besides standard amenities, the park boasts a six-story cafeteria, truly making it a haven for OPPO employees who love to dine.

With Xiaomi and OPPO already taking the lead, isn't it time for Honor to unveil its own fairy-tale apartments?
