Since the debut of the Redmi K90 series, Xiaomi has, for the moment, wrapped up its latest initiatives in the smartphone arena. The premium flagship has left all domestic rivals in the dust, and the K90 series has also achieved commendable results. However, in the more affordable price range around 2,000 yuan, Xiaomi has yet to roll out a new model. But it's evident that this is merely the lull before the storm. Xiaomi is undoubtedly cooking up something significant, given its rare defeats in the realm of cost-effective smartphones. The company has previously reiterated that the K series will ascend to a higher tier, with the Turbo series stepping in to fill the void. There's little doubt that the Dimensity 8500 chip will make its debut in this series.
At present, the most tantalizing configuration for the Turbo 5 series has surfaced. Although the latest leaks don't explicitly identify the model, netizens widely speculate it to be the Redmi Turbo 5 series. A 9000mAh battery is a setup that many have been eagerly awaiting, and even more astonishingly, a 10,000mAh battery is also under consideration.

Judging by the release strategy of the existing Turbo 4 series, the Turbo 5 series is anticipated to feature an 8000mAh battery for the standard version and a 9000mAh battery for the Pro version. Nonetheless, the release date of the Pro version might be brought forward significantly, which aligns with Xiaomi's current mainstream release strategy for new models. After all, existing models have reaped considerable benefits in this regard. As for which model will debut with the 10,000mAh battery under consideration, there's currently no clear candidate.
Of course, there's another scenario. Previously, the Redmi product manager hinted that after the Turbo series takes over from the K series, there will be pleasant surprises in terms of cost-effectiveness. Hence, it's plausible that the Turbo 5 will come equipped with a 9000mAh battery, while the Turbo 5 Pro will leap directly to a 10,000mAh battery. For users, this could represent the most practical upgrade. Naturally, Honor might be the first to unveil a 10,000mAh battery, followed closely by Realme, with Redmi likely trailing in third place.

Regarding chips, the Turbo 4 series boasts a combination of Dimensity and Snapdragon. It's expected that the Turbo 5 series will alter its approach, with the standard version utilizing the Dimensity 8500 and the Pro version employing the Dimensity 9400. As for whether super pixels will continue to be assigned to the Turbo series, I personally believe this likelihood is slim, as it would diminish the differentiation from the K series. In terms of battery life, 100W PPS hybrid charging is anticipated, while imaging capabilities may not see significant enhancements, maintaining a comparable level.
The IP66/68/69 protection capabilities will undoubtedly be standard, and the overall cost-effectiveness might even surpass that of the K series. Personally, I believe it's highly suitable for most users without exceedingly high demands. If it starts at 1999 yuan, it will undoubtedly be a massive hit.

Currently, third-party sources suggest that the Turbo 5 series is expected to hit the market around January next year. If you're intrigued, you can definitely keep an eye out for it.
