On the evening of January 29th, Beijing time, REDMI hosted a product launch event at the Xiaomi Science and Technology Park in Beijing, with Leitech invited to cover and report on the proceedings.
As another independent product line under the REDMI umbrella, the TURBO series has emerged as a formidable contender, thanks to its exceptional cost-performance ratio and impressive sales figures.
Without further delay, let's delve into the details of the all-new REDMI Turbo 5 series.
Uncompromising Performance and Battery Life: Aiming for Segment Leadership?
Let's begin with the core specifications. The REDMI Turbo 5 Max is powered by MediaTek's latest Dimensity 9500s processor. Its chip architecture closely mirrors that of the Dimensity 9400+, with GPU and cache specifications also being highly similar. Paired with an LPDDR5X Ultra and UFS 4.0 storage combination, it offers a significant edge in this price bracket.

According to REDMI, the device excels in running 3D turn-based mobile games, outperforming competing models equipped with cooling fans, boasting an average frame rate of 59.5 frames per second—a truly remarkable feat.
This impressive performance is largely attributed to its large-area 3D Ice Seal Circulation Cold Pump cooling module. It's safe to say that the REDMI Turbo 5 Max stands as one of the most powerful phones in the 2.5K price range.

In terms of battery life, the REDMI Turbo 5 Max is equipped with Xiaomi's largest-ever 9000mAh Jinsha River battery, supporting 100W wired charging (100W PPS protocol) and boasting 1600 long cycles. Despite having a 1000mAh smaller capacity than competing models, the REDMI Turbo 5 Max actually delivers superior performance in real-world gaming tests, according to the official claims.
The display features a 6.83-inch M10 material panel with 1.5K resolution, 3500nits peak brightness, and 3840HZ PWM+DC dual dimming. It also sports a flagship-level ultra-narrow bezel design with four equal sides, evoking a sense of nostalgia. Previously, distinguishing between a 2,000-yuan phone and a flagship model was as simple as checking for four equal narrow bezels. Now, even phones in this price range offer flagship-level screen quality and visual impact.

Additional features include a metal frame, ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K waterproof rating, stereo dual speakers, and a Light Hunter 600 sensor, among others.

More Standard, Yet More Affordable
The second product of the evening is the REDMI Turbo 5. Firstly, it features a 6.59-inch gold-standard screen, making it more suitable for users with smaller hands compared to the Max. Secondly, the screen specifications are nearly identical to those of the Max: 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 3840Hz PWM+DC dimming, M10 luminous material, etc. Thus, users need not worry about a decline in overall screen quality due to the smaller size.
In terms of performance, the REDMI Turbo 5 is equipped with a flagship-level performance trio: Dimensity 8500-Ultra, LPDDR5X Ultra + UFS4.1. The CPU boasts 8 * A725 all-large cores, and the GPU is an 8-core Mali-G720. The AnTuTu benchmark score exceeds 2.62 million. Although there is a certain performance gap compared to the Max, it remains a highly capable entry-level device.

Other features include a 7560mAh flagship-level Xiaomi Jinsha River battery, the same 100W wired charging and 27W wired reverse charging experience as the REDMI Turbo 5 Max, the same waterproof rating, the same new ticket-grabbing mode, and support for dual-band GPS and tri-band Beidou.
It can be said that the REDMI Turbo 5 retains the core flagship configurations of the Max, making it an ideal choice for users who prefer a mid-sized screen and balanced performance.
Pricing for the REDMI Turbo 5 also includes four versions, with national subsidy prices as follows:
12GB+256GB version: 1699.15 yuan;
16GB+256GB version: 1954.15 yuan;

16GB+512GB version: 2209.15 yuan.
The final product to be unveiled is the REDMI Pad 2 Pro, which boasts a massive 12000mAh battery. Combined with its inherently low-power processor, it virtually eliminates battery anxiety. REDMI states that this battery has passed TÜV Rheinland's 1600 long-cycle certification and can last up to four years.

The display is a 12.1-inch 2.5K LCD high-definition eye-care panel with a 16:10 aspect ratio, perfect for multimedia entertainment. Whether watching movies horizontally or scrolling through Douyin vertically, the experience is outstanding. Additionally, the screen supports Xiaomi's Qingshan eye-care solution, full-brightness DC dimming, and hardware-level low blue light. For users with special needs, a specially customized soft light screen version is also available, which eliminates most external ambient light interference and is ideal for students taking online courses.
In terms of processors, the REDMI Pad 2 Pro is equipped with Qualcomm's fourth-generation Snapdragon 7s, manufactured using TSMC's 4nm process. Compared to the previous generation, performance has improved by 28%. Its powerful performance enables the Pad 2 Pro to support professional applications such as PC-level WPS Office, PC-level CAJViewer, and PC-level browsers, providing a PC-level professional experience on a tablet.

One notable aspect is the color options. In addition to the ordinary dark gray, silver, and purple, REDMI also offers a Harry Potter custom edition, which is brimming with Harry Potter elements in terms of appearance, peripheral accessories, and internal themes.
Pricing for the REDMI Pad 2 Pro includes four versions:
8GB+128GB version: 1799 yuan (National subsidy price: 1529.15 yuan);
8GB+256GB version: 1999 yuan (National subsidy price: 1699.15 yuan);
12GB+256GB soft light screen version: 2499 yuan (National subsidy price: 2124.15 yuan)
Harry Potter edition: 8GB+256GB version for 2599 yuan (National subsidy price: 2209.15 yuan)
As REDMI's new release for the year, the sincerity of the REDMI Turbo 5 series is undeniable. Being able to purchase a device with a 9000mAh battery, a new flagship Dimensity processor, and a metal frame for less than 2000 yuan is a deal you won't find elsewhere except from REDMI.

However, the pricing of less than 2000 yuan also means that it will attract not only young users who love gaming and value technology and performance but also many 'pragmatic consumers' who hope to purchase a phone with sufficiently high configurations at a reasonable price and use it smoothly for many years. After all, for products in this price range, performance may be secondary, and durability is the ultimate test.
