As we're still hesitant and debating between the iPhone 15 series and the iPhone 16 series, Apple has already packed all the desired features and hardware configurations into the iPhone 17 series. Glimpsing at the model lineup and supported features of the iPhone 17 series will instantly make you realize that waiting for the iPhone 16 series was a waste of time; the iPhone 17 series is Apple's true game-changer.

First and foremost, it's certain that the lineup of the iPhone 17 series will undergo changes. The Plus models seen in the iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 series will be replaced by new Slim or Ultra models, tentatively named iPhone 17 Slim or iPhone 17 Ultra within the industry.

According to recent reports, foreign media has mentioned that the rumored Slim version will be Apple's thinnest iPhone yet.

While specific thickness details for the iPhone 17 Slim have not been disclosed, being labeled as Apple's thinnest iPhone implies it will be slimmer than all currently available models.

Among Apple's current iPhone offerings, the iPhone 15 Pro series measures 8.25mm in thickness, while the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are 7.8mm thick. The iPhone SE is 7.3mm, the iPhone 14 is 7.8mm, and the iPhone 13 is 7.65mm. Comparing models on Apple's website, the thinnest model is the iPhone 6 at 6.9mm.

Furthermore, gathered information suggests that the iPhone 17 Slim will feature a 6.6-inch Dynamic Island display with a resolution of 2740×1260 and be powered by Apple's latest A19 chip.

It's also rumored that Apple plans to discontinue the Plus model in the 2025 iPhone 17 series, replacing it with a "Slim" variant, potentially the most expensive model in the lineup, with an estimated price of $1,299. However, TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has suggested that the iPhone 17 Slim may be a relatively inexpensive option, focusing more on design than functionality, resulting in significant design compromises.

As such, the model will adopt a titanium alloy frame with a lower titanium content than the iPhone 15 Pro series, maintaining a premium feel. It will also feature Apple's in-house 5G modem and a single rear camera.

The premium variants of the iPhone 17 series will be equipped with a more powerful A19 Pro chip. However, due to the limited availability of TSMC's 2nm process technology, which is expected to enter mass production by late 2025 at the earliest, both chips will utilize TSMC's 3nm process.

Regarding Apple's decision to replace the iPhone 17 Plus with a new Slim model, Kuo believes that the Plus models currently account for only 5-10% of total new iPhone shipments. This suggests that the other three models (standard, Pro, and Pro Max) already effectively cover the high-end market segment, making the Plus model somewhat redundant. Therefore, the Slim variant aims not to replace the Plus but to explore new design trends beyond Apple's existing iPhone lineup.

Returning to the iPhone 17 leaks, the information is quite comprehensive, covering screen sizes, performance configurations, cameras, and more.

In terms of screen sizes, the iPhone 17 and 17 Pro will both feature 6.27-inch displays, while the 17 Slim will have a 6.65-inch screen, and the 17 Pro Max will sport a 6.86-inch display.

All iPhone 17 models will come standard with LTPO (Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Oxide) displays supporting ProMotion adaptive refresh rate technology.

Performance-wise, the iPhone 17 and 17 Slim will be equipped with the A19 chip and 8GB of RAM, while the 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max will feature the A19 Pro chip and 12GB of RAM.

Camera-wise, both models in the iPhone 17 Pro series will sport three 48MP cameras, while the standard version will have a dual-camera setup.

Lastly, please note that the information provided above is based on leaks and rumors. As the iPhone 17 release is still far off, all specific model details and data related to the iPhone 17 series should be verified with official Apple sources.
