July 13 news, according to foreign media reports, Germany aims to remove technologies and components from Chinese telecommunication companies such as Huawei and ZTE from its 5G wireless networks by 2029, causing a major uproar.
Regarding such an action, some German operators have stated that it is simply impossible to achieve, and if done, it would lead to the possibility of internet disconnection (Huawei equipment accounts for more than 50% of the radio access network equipment in Germany's 5G network construction).
An internal document from Deutsche Telekom previously disclosed showed that replacing components would take five years and cost up to 3 billion euros (approximately 23.7 billion yuan).
According to the 5G benchmark test results conducted by Spanish company Medux in February this year, UK operators lag behind EU operators in 5G, with London ranking last among metropolises while Berlin ranks first. The UK's ban on Huawei 5G equipment is the main reason for its poor performance.
In response, experts have said that while the 6G race has begun (China has already set up the world's first 6G test network), Europe and the US are still struggling with China's 5G, which is indeed not feasible.
