JD.com Exposed for Selling 'Three No's' Products: Consumers Face Uphill Battle for Rights Protection

JD.com has once again been exposed for selling so-called 'three no's' products, sparking widespread concern and strong dissatisfaction among consumers. These 'three no's' products lack production dates, manufacturers, and quality certificates, not only violating the 'Product Quality Law' but also posing a serious threat to consumer rights.

A recent incident highlights the issue: a consumer purchased a 'Xiaomi Tule LCD TV' on JD.com, only to discover that the packaging and TV itself lacked any markings, including product name, manufacturer, and production date. After just one month, the TV developed a 'mottled screen' issue. Despite JD.com promptly removing the product and fining the seller, the consumer's request for a refund and triple compensation under the 'Consumer Rights Protection Law' was denied. JD.com's customer service initially stalled, stating that the order could not be judged without inspection, shifting responsibility to the merchant and suggesting the consumer report to local regulators.

This is not an isolated incident. Earlier, a consumer reported buying a TOTO smart toilet model CE-864329 for 4,247.5 yuan from a JD.com home decoration store, only to discover it was a fake. Despite demanding 'refund and triple compensation,' the merchant rejected the request and subsequently removed all products, becoming unreachable. JD.com's handling specialist could only process a refund, not triple compensation.

Similar complaints abound on JD.com. According to the HeiMao Complaints Platform, thousands of complaints involve keywords like 'JD.com' and 'three no's products,' spanning various goods like hair dryers, face and fingerprint locks, medical-grade red and blue light devices, children's Warrior shoes, Little Swan washing machines, and laptops. One consumer found their children's Warrior shoes lacked a brand, factory name, or origin, with complaints to JD.com going unresolved.

Another consumer purchased medical-grade red and blue light devices that lacked trademarks, charging heads, instructions, manufacturer details, and medical device registration certificates. The seller admitted selling 'three no's' products but refused triple compensation. After JD.com specialists intervened, the seller could not provide proof and was deemed ineligible for triple compensation.

As a prominent domestic e-commerce platform, JD.com should strictly control product quality and protect consumer rights. However, the frequent occurrence of 'three no's' product incidents has eroded consumer trust. Consumers not only face product quality issues but also delays and evasions in complaint handling by JD.com, damaging both consumer rights and JD.com's reputation.

To address these issues, JD.com must reflect deeply and take effective measures. Strengthening product quality supervision and control to eliminate 'three no's' products is crucial. Additionally, improving customer service personnel's professional quality and service levels is essential to ensure timely, fair, and effective resolution of consumer complaints. Only by doing so can JD.com regain consumer trust and remain competitive in the market.
