This is absolutely ridiculous! Trump renames AI to 'SI' from now on

Everyone should be familiar with what AI is. Its English name is Artificial Intelligence (abbreviated as AI), and its Chinese name is 'artificial intelligence'.

It can be said that this term has become universally recognized and customary worldwide. Over the past years, everyone has been referring to it this way, whether in the United States, China, or even globally.

However, on September 29, Trump organized an event at the White House, officially named the 'Super Intelligence Conference and Luncheon.' During this meeting, he directly changed 'AI' to 'SI.'

In terms of its English name, 'Artificial Intelligence' was changed to 'Super Intelligence' (abbreviated as SI), which translates to 'super intelligence' in Chinese.

Interestingly, Trump also signed an executive order stating that the administrative department would no longer use the old term and would instead use 'SI' in all official documents.

He said that the word 'artificial' makes intelligence sound fake, but in reality, it is now the ultimate intelligence, superior intelligence, so 'super intelligence' is a better term.

Does this scene seem a bit familiar?

Since Trump became president again, he has been keen on giving various things new names, regardless of whether they belong to him or not. If he likes something, he just renames it.

For example, he wanted to rename the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America, the Strait of Hormuz as the Trump Strait, and Lake Ontario as Lake America. However, these changes were not feasible due to various factors.

But when it comes to AI or SI, Trump can issue an executive order to ensure that the government only uses 'SI' and not 'AI.' This is within his control, so it is likely that the change has been successfully implemented, at least in government documents.

Additionally, a total of 33 AI leaders attended his luncheon, including figures like Elon Musk, Jensen Huang, Mark Zuckerberg, Sundar Pichai, Satya Nadella, Dario Amodei, Jeff Bezos, and so on.

They cover GPU chips, computing power, models, social platforms, and search, essentially representing the top companies in the US AI industry chain.

Trump's intention is clear: he hopes that these companies will stop using the term 'AI' and start using 'SI' instead. Whether other countries and regions will follow the US and adopt 'SI' remains to be seen, but for now, everyone is a bit awkward about it.
