On the evening of October 29, the MONA L05 was launched, and the product question for MONA shifted accordingly: Xpeng now needs to explain why the M03, L03, and L05 are all worth buying.

The M03 is a battery electric sedan, the L03 is a compact SUV, and the L05 is a larger five-seat SUV.

Together, the three cars cover young users. The differentiation lies in body style, family space, charging conditions, and purchase budget.

MONA is shifting from a single-product-driven series to a product portfolio covering mainstream budgets.

The three cars are not isolated steps from one another.

The M03 and L03 cover a large overlapping budget range, and the L03 high trim also intersects with the L05 entry and Max versions. Price overlap can keep customers in the showroom and let sales complete conversions around needs, but it may also make consumers repeatedly hesitate. Xpeng must provide sufficient basis for choice to turn more models into higher transaction efficiency.

The M03's core task is to bring consumers with limited budgets who like sedan body styles into the Xpeng system.

Its value lies in the lower purchase threshold, hatchback loading format, and gradually offered intelligent configurations. For urban commuters with stable charging conditions who do not yet need an SUV seating position, this logic still holds.

The L03's contribution to the series also includes expanding charging conditions. The M03 mainly targets consumers who accept battery electric vehicles, while the L03 uses extended range to bring users with different charging conditions into the comparison range. Between it and the M03, the choice is mainly sedan versus SUV; between it and the L05, it must explain how much family space the extra money buys.

This position requires the L03 to maintain a clear budget advantage.

The L05 is 4,870 mm long with a 2,940 mm wheelbase, increases of 220 mm and 90 mm respectively over the L03. Space is its selling point.

The regular trunk is officially rated at 702 liters, higher than the L03's 539 liters. Its sales focus should be on rear-seat seating, child seats, multi-person trips, and loading capacity, so consumers directly experience the upgrade value when viewing the car.

The L05 offers battery electric and extended-range versions, with incremental volume coming from expanded vehicle use and space hierarchy. The extended-range version has a CLTC pure electric range of 310 km, while battery electric versions are 535, 560, or 635 km depending on the specific version.

Consumers first judge space needs, then choose energy form, and finally choose intelligent configurations. This order is clearer than comparing around a list of configuration names.

A typical intersection is the L03 battery electric 625 Max and the L05 battery electric 535 Max: guide prices are 144,800 yuan and 154,800 yuan, a difference of 10,000 yuan.

The former has a longer claimed pure electric range, while the latter has a larger body and loading space. Consumers decide based on long-distance frequency and family needs.

Within the L05, the battery electric 535 Max and extended-range 1310 Max are both guided at 154,800 yuan, allowing energy forms to be compared at the same price point, with sales communicating around charging conditions.

The Max and Ultra SE versions of the L03 and L05 both establish intelligent hardware and model tiers.

A shared technology direction helps form series recognition, with users first choosing a model and then choosing intelligent capabilities.

For Xpeng, after offering intelligent experience in mainstream price ranges, it must also continuously bear software adaptation, calibration validation, and after-sales support. Expanded sales have the opportunity to dilute shared R&D and procurement costs, while more versions also increase management complexity.

Dual powertrains broaden coverage but also increase operational difficulty.

Both the L03 and L05 have battery electric and extended-range versions, covering more charging conditions and travel radii. The series' market boundary expands. Sales may not necessarily rise with it.

Dual powertrains correspond to more supply chains, production scheduling, and service combinations. If delivery speed varies too much across versions, purchase intention that has already formed may be lost.
