By around 10 p.m. on November 1, mainstream brands from domestic traditional automakers and new car-making forces had largely all released their October sales figures. Overall, among traditional automakers, BYD, Geely and Chery remain in an absolutely leading position. Among new car-making forces, Leapmotor still ranked first with monthly sales exceeding 100,000 units, while NIO, HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance) and Li Auto saw declines both year-on-year and month-on-month. Here is the specific ranking.
No. 1 BYD: October sales of 490,000 vehicles set a new high for the year, up 5.7% month-on-month and 11% year-on-year. Although BYD's year-on-year and month-on-month growth may not look that stunning on the surface, you have to remember that for an automaker like BYD—which has long firmly held the domestic sales championship and already reached monthly sales of 400,000 to 500,000 vehicles—it is already very difficult to keep up the growth momentum, let alone achieve dual growth year-on-year and month-on-month. Nothing more to say—just one word: solid.

By brand, the combined sales of Dynasty and Ocean reached 424,000 vehicles, Fangchengbao sold 44,000, Denza sold 15,000, and Yangwang sold 258. It is worth mentioning that in October BYD's pure electric vehicle sales rose significantly year-on-year, by 37.38%, to 305,700 vehicles. In overseas markets, October sales were close to 170,000 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 103%.
In the first 10 months of this year, BYD's cumulative sales reached 3.6217 million vehicles, and cumulative overseas sales exceeded 1.5 million vehicles.
No. 2 Geely: October sales exceeded 310,000 vehicles, achieving not only dual year-on-year and month-on-month growth but also a new high for the year. This also marks the eighth consecutive month for Geely Auto to achieve dual year-on-year and month-on-month growth. Among them, new energy vehicle sales reached 215,000 units, setting a historical high and surpassing the 200,000 mark for the first time, with the new energy vehicle penetration rate approaching 70%.

By brand, Geely China Star sold 102,000 vehicles, and high-end series models sold close to 40,000 vehicles, up 15% year-on-year and 11% month-on-month. Geely Galaxy sold 153,000 vehicles, up 20% year-on-year and 18% month-on-month. Zeekr sold 32,000 vehicles, up 5.2% year-on-year. Lynk & Co sold 22,000 vehicles, up 19% month-on-month.
In overseas markets, October sales were 107,100 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 158%. Among mainstream automakers, Geely Auto's export growth rate still ranks first.
No. 3 Chery Automobile: cumulative sales of 296,000 vehicles, up 5.3% year-on-year. Among them, new energy vehicle sales exceeded 140,000 units, setting a historical high and up 28% year-on-year. This is also the seventh consecutive month for Chery Automobile that new energy vehicle sales have exceeded 100,000 units.

Overseas sales also exceeded 200,000 vehicles, up nearly 59% year-on-year. It not only still ranks first in export volume among domestic automakers but also marks the third month this year that monthly sales have broken through the 200,000 mark. From January to October this year, Chery Automobile's cumulative export volume was 1.752 million vehicles, up 65% year-on-year.
According to data officially released by Chery, from January to August this year Chery Group's new energy vehicle sales ranked in the global top 5 automaker groups, with a market share of 5.5%. By model, the all-new QQ3 achieved monthly sales of over 10,000 for seven consecutive months, and Fengyun A9 also firmly ranked first in sales among pure electric models priced 100,000 to 150,000 yuan.
Among traditional automakers, Great Wall Motor also announced sales data, with total October sales exceeding 120,000 vehicles, up 20.5% month-on-month but down 15.87% year-on-year. Haval remained the main sales force with 71,000 vehicles, Tank sold 15,000, and pickups sold 13,000. ORA sold 12,000, while the worst performer was WEY with sales of only 8,648 vehicles.

Among new car-making force brands, only Leapmotor had October sales exceeding 100,000 vehicles, up 51% year-on-year and 0.4% month-on-month. From January to October this year, Leapmotor's cumulative sales exceeded 700,000 vehicles.
XPeng's October sales exceeded 50,000 vehicles, up 19.6% year-on-year and 21.8% month-on-month. With the launch of two Pengcheng SUV models, Xiaomi Auto's October sales also exceeded 50,000 vehicles, but official specific data was not announced; month-on-month increases for both were above 25%. As for who will be the second place among new car-making forces, XPeng or Xiaomi, it is still hard to say.
NIO, HIMA and Li Auto—three high-end new car-making force brands—all performed less ideally in October sales. NIO sold 34,200 vehicles, down 15.2% year-on-year and 8.5% month-on-month. HIMA sold 33,500 vehicles, down 50% year-on-year and 10.5% month-on-month. Li Auto sold 29,000 vehicles in October, down 8.6% year-on-year and 8.8% month-on-month.
