On July 28, ByteDance's AI Agent development platform, 'Coze', officially announced its open sourcing.
The open-source code for the 'Coze' platform is now available on platforms like GitHub, enabling developers to directly access and contribute to the project. This milestone represents a significant step forward in ByteDance's efforts to build an AI agent ecosystem.
The open-source initiative encompasses two core projects: the Coze Studio development platform and the Coze Loop operation and maintenance platform. Together, they form a comprehensive technical support system spanning development, testing, and optimization.
Coze Studio offers a visual interface, a comprehensive tool library, and modular components, supporting multimodal integration. This facilitates rapid agent development with capabilities such as dialogue interaction and task planning. On the other hand, Coze Loop focuses on operation and maintenance management, providing functionalities like monitoring, performance analysis, and iterative deployment to ensure the seamless operation of agents.
The open-source code is released under the permissive Apache 2.0 license, granting developers the freedom to use, modify, and distribute the code as they see fit. This license explicitly supports commercial use and includes patent licensing guarantees, alleviating legal concerns related to commercialization for developers.
ByteDance emphasized that this move aims to harness the collective intelligence of global developers, foster standardization and ecological growth within AI Agent technology, and facilitate cost-effective deployment in diverse scenarios such as customer service, education, and office work.
