Recently, the internet buzzed with rumors claiming that former Honor CEO Zhao Ming had joined Zeekr.

On August 12, Zhao Ming promptly denied these speculations to reporters, stating, "I am unaware of any such rumors."

Relevant executives have cross-verified the information and confirmed that it is indeed false news. Insiders from Chery Automobile also stepped forward to deny the matter.

The genesis of these rumors is linked to Zeekr's recent announcement of entering its "2.0 phase."

On August 7, the two parties signed a cooperation agreement, officially announcing an investment exceeding 10 billion yuan to form a 5,000-person R&D team and establish an independently operated "Zeekr New Energy Company," integrating R&D, production, sales, and service.

Zeekr's move is reportedly aimed at addressing previous sales and delivery challenges stemming from issues like cooperation and supply chain integration between the two entities.

Following this news, some speculated whether Zhao Ming would be brought in to oversee the situation.

Zhao Ming has deep roots with Huawei. Public records show that he was born in 1973 and graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He joined Huawei in 1998 and later led Honor as its CEO after its separation from Huawei, achieving rapid growth with annual shipments exceeding 100 million units and topping domestic mobile phone sales charts multiple times.

Under Zhao Ming's leadership, Honor introduced several popular products in the mobile phone market, and his precise marketing and product definition skills are considered crucial for Zeekr, which is currently seeking to break a stalemate.

On January 17 of this year, Zhao Ming stepped down as CEO of Honor due to health reasons, issuing an internal resignation letter on the same day and bidding farewell on Weibo, expressing regret that he could not accompany Honor into the next decade.

In the seven months since leaving Honor, rumors about Zhao Ming's next move have persisted. Earlier, there were rumors that he had joined ByteDance to oversee the AI smart terminal business, but these were swiftly denied by ByteDance officials.

Industry experts analyze that, given Zhao Ming's personal plans, it is unlikely that he will return to high-intensity work in the near future.
