On December 8, the 2024 First Electric AI Conference Industrial Forum (II) AI-Driven New Quality Future - AI Enabling High-Quality Development of Manufacturing Forum was held in Nanjing. The event invited industry, academia, and research executives and academic experts from GCDI, Siemens China, B&R, Advantech, iFLYTEK, Northeastern University, Suzhou University, among others, to gather and discuss AI technology's application innovations in manufacturing. Yang Li, GCDI's Marketing Director, was invited to deliver a keynote speech titled "AI-Driven Industry, Digital Intelligence Empowering Manufacturing," sharing GCDI's cutting-edge insights and industry practices in AI, providing attendees with a new perspective.

Yang Li outlined the three stages of industrial AI application development: spot-based empowerment, scenario-based empowerment, and comprehensive intelligent application. She emphasized that the deep integration of large models with industrial scenarios is a key direction for AI to deeply empower new industrialization.

Currently, in the field of production management, industrial AI applications have already occupied a significant share due to strong data accessibility, high technical maturity, and strong connections with corporate operations. At the conference, Yang Li detailed GCDI's industrial AI practices in various sub-scenarios such as production manufacturing, quality management, equipment intelligence, and supply chain optimization. Based on an independently controllable big data AI platform and comprehensive AI tools, combined with data and expert experience from the broader semiconductor industry, some of GCDI's end-to-end industrial intelligence solutions have the potential to help enterprises achieve an upgrade from data-assisted decision-making to AI-driven self-decision-making and self-action, as well as an evolution from single-point applications to closed-loop business management.

After more than six years of technological innovation and industry best practices, GCDI's AI-driven industrial intelligence solutions, relying on the three pillars of AI, industrial software, and smart equipment, have undergone extensive practical application and successful validation in TCL's manufacturing environment, covering R&D, supply chain, product manufacturing, sales, and other aspects. For example, GCDI's self-developed "AI Engine" has typical applications in scenarios such as TCL Huaxing's ADC, computer vision-enhanced quality applications, and expert large model assistants.

Among them, the ADC application provided by GCDI uses AI deep learning algorithms to achieve autonomous learning and modeling of algorithm models through the training platform, inference platform, and resource scheduling platform. It automatically detects, classifies, and disposes of defects during the production process, identifying areas of abnormal concentration and their causes. After deployment at TCL Huaxing, this application has undergone continuous technological iterations, forming TCL's independent technological capabilities, with accuracy rates increasing from 85% to 95%, manpower savings of 12 times, more than five times increase in inspection efficiency per card, savings of over 50 million yuan annually, and an exclusive interview on CCTV's "Made in China" program.

In terms of expert large model assistants, applications in different directions such as equipment fault operation and maintenance assistants, product issue management assistants, and operational data intelligent analysis assistants have been promoted to achieve a significant increase in TCL Huaxing's fault handling efficiency, with an estimated benefit increase of over 20 million yuan.

At the conference, Yang Li also shared GCDI's successful practice cases in the chip, display, photovoltaic, lithium battery, and other industries, demonstrating how AI technology can reduce labor costs, reduce losses, improve yield and capacity, and achieve intelligent and digital upgrades in the production process through means such as abnormal early warning and parameter optimization.

As a leading player in the industrial AI field, GCDI adheres to the long-term technological accumulation and product innovation in the industrial AI sector with the development concept of AI in Manufacturing, and has become a pioneer in the integration of "AI + Industrial Software + Smart Equipment." Recently, He Jun, Vice President of TCL Industrial Holdings and CEO of GCDI, predicted the future of AI empowering new industrialization at the 2024 China 5G+ Industrial Internet Conference. The uncertainty in manufacturing always requires both humans and AI to solve, so AI Agents will coexist with humans as consultants, and the future manufacturing model will be one of human-machine coexistence.

In just half an hour, the presentation concisely demonstrated how AI technology empowers manufacturing and accelerates intelligent transformation, providing attendees with profound insights into AI+Smart Manufacturing applications and crucial directions for industry practices. It received high praise from conference guests. With advancements in computing power, increased data availability, and algorithmic innovations in the AI era, GCDI will continue to refine its AI engineering capabilities, leading the manufacturing industry toward a smarter, more efficient, and sustainable future.
