Kuaikeji, August 13th - China Mobile has officially unveiled its mid-year financial results for the first half of 2026, revealing an operating revenue of 538 billion yuan during this period, marking a 1.1% year-on-year decline. However, when excluding the effects of value-added tax policy adjustments, the revenue demonstrated positive growth on a comparable basis.
The profit attributable to shareholders stood at 78.9 billion yuan, experiencing a 6.3% year-on-year decrease, with earnings per share reaching 3.64 yuan.
Regarding the revenue composition, the revenue from the main business amounted to 452.7 billion yuan, showing a 3.1% year-on-year decrease, while revenue from other businesses reached 85.4 billion yuan, up by 11.2% year-on-year.
Revenue from traditional communication services encountered cyclical challenges. In contrast, computing and intelligent services emerged as significant growth drivers. Computing services revenue witnessed a 14% year-on-year surge, with computing and intelligent services contributing 22.6% to the main business revenue, a 2.2 percentage point increase from the previous year. This underscores the accelerated transformation of China Mobile from a traditional operator to a technology service provider.
The cash flow performance was remarkable, with a net operating cash inflow of 114.9 billion yuan in the first half of the year, up by 37% year-on-year. Free cash flow reached 53.9 billion yuan, soaring by 111.6% year-on-year. EBITDA amounted to 173.6 billion yuan, with EBITDA accounting for 38.4% of the main business revenue, maintaining its leading position among global operators in terms of profitability.
The subscriber base continued to grow steadily, totaling 1.011 billion mobile customers by the end of June, with a net increase of 5.88 million during the year. Among them, 5G subscribers reached 687 million, with a net increase of 44.74 million.
The number of broadband internet customers stood at 337 million, with IoT connections exceeding 1.511 billion, and mobile internet traffic increasing by 16% year-on-year.
China Mobile also announced the distribution of a mid-year dividend of 2.51 yuan per share, representing a slight 0.3% year-on-year increase.
Management indicated that traditional voice and basic data services are facing competitive pressure from existing customers. Going forward, they will continue to ramp up investment in intelligent computing infrastructure and AI computing power, leveraging Mobile Cloud, AIDC, and industry digitalization solutions to counterbalance the decline in traditional services and explore new growth avenues in government and enterprise markets, the industrial internet, and overseas communication markets.
