More serious than the intense competition in six areas is the cost of end-to-end technology.

Suddenly, as if a spring breeze came overnight, thousands of households are adopting end-to-end technology, and it's still the consumers who bear the costs that automotive companies should be taking on.

With the holding of the 2024 Blue Book Forum on Automotive Industry, the recent debate on competition and non-competition has largely subsided. A conference attended by over a thousand people, including hundreds of executives from automotive companies, focused on "anti-competition." The consensus reached by executives and bosses is that competition is a derogatory term, and the organizers listed the six major problems currently existing in China's automotive market in their opening remarks.

1. Cost competition: cutting corners, fraud, such as using non-automotive-grade chips and providing users with inferior charging piles; 2. Technology competition: deceiving partners, plagiarizing technology; 3. Financial competition: defaulting on payments; 4. User competition: suppressing incidents and misleading users; 5. Relationship competition: maneuvering, playing both sides; 6. Public opinion competition: confusing the public, the prevalence of paid commentators.

The above six issues have basically covered the chaos in the current automotive market, but to be precise, they mostly discuss the phenomena that have already occurred, are unresolved, and need to be warned about. However, it does not cover ongoing or imminent events, such as the chaos in intelligent driving under outdated regulations. Among them, the most prominent is the currently popular end-to-end technology.

LOOKAR's end-to-end technology has reached thousands of households, but Yu Chengdong's intelligent driving is not mentioned.

Like most such forums, the reason why various industry leaders participate is not only to express their own views but also to use it as a platform to publish opinions and gain exposure. So, just as Zhang Yong from Nezha Automobile had just finished speaking and said that his Weibo was confiscated and his team didn't allow him to post freely, the organizers of the Blue Book Forum followed up with, "The advertisements are over, now it's time for you to share some valuable insights."

However, in stark contrast, the theme presented at this forum is quite different from the current state of the automotive industry. As we enter June, price discounts are gradually shrinking or stagnating, and the price war has temporarily subsided, even to the point where many are unable to continue. Therefore, the competition in intelligent driving has become the next trend.

Huawei has been hyping its ADS 3.0 Kunlun system since April, and now with OTA, it has basically achieved end-to-end capabilities on ADS 2.0.

XPENG announced its largest OTA in history at the 520AIDAY, and with the launch of AI chauffeur, its end-to-end capabilities continue to be unleashed.
