As the end of 2024 approaches, major automakers are revealing their final cards, pushing to meet their annual sales targets with significant discounts. However, this does not mean the market will remain calm for long. In the upcoming first quarter of 2025, a feast of new SUV models is brewing, with the heavy hitters from Tesla, Xiaomi, and Deep Blue Cars particularly eye-catching. Let's see which of these upcoming new cars will become your favorite.
Tesla Model Y
As a leading player in the new energy SUV segment, Tesla Model Y has won wide market recognition since its inception for its revolutionary design and exceptional performance. The upcoming mid-cycle refresh model is highly anticipated.
The mid-cycle refresh Model Y is expected to officially launch in the first quarter of 2025. Although the overall design still retains the classic elements of the 'Evil Big Mouse,' the front face has undergone significant adjustments. The split headlight design paired with a through-type daytime running light makes the new car look more stylish and coordinated. Inside, the new car has also undergone a comprehensive upgrade, with a new steering wheel, center console screen, and seats, aiming to provide a more comfortable driving experience.
Of course, for Tesla, the upgrade of the electric drive system is the main event. The mid-cycle refresh Model Y is expected to be equipped with the same electric drive system as the new Model 3, with rear-wheel drive, all-wheel drive, and high-performance versions all set to debut. In terms of price, as Model Y is clearing inventory, the starting price of the rear-wheel drive version has dropped to 239,900 yuan, with a 5-year interest-free loan option available.
Xiaomi MX11
Xiaomi's first SUV model, the MX11, has garnered significant attention since its unveiling. Judging from the current road test progress, the new car is very close to launch and is expected to officially go on sale around March 2025.
The Xiaomi MX11 stands out in design, with an overall look that is closer to a crossover than a traditional SUV. This design not only gives the new car a more stylish appearance but also provides a more spacious interior. In terms of naming, Xiaomi is also unconventional, and the MX11 prefix may become a new series identifier.
In terms of technology, the Xiaomi MX11 is expected to adopt Xiaomi's previously announced intelligent chassis technology, including fully active suspension and rear-wheel steering technology. The application of these technologies will further enhance the handling and comfort of the new car. In terms of price, the Xiaomi MX11 is expected to be available in three configurations, with a starting price of around 235,900 yuan and a top-end price expected to exceed 300,000 yuan.
Deep Blue S09
Deep Blue, a new energy brand under Changan Automobile, has achieved impressive results in the market in recent years. The upcoming Deep Blue S09, scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2025, is a new mid-to-large SUV designed specifically for family users.
The Deep Blue S09 returns to the angular design style of the Deep Blue S07, with sharp lines converging at the hood and front face, creating a visually impactful appearance. The new car also adopts a narrow daytime running light and split headlight design similar to the Deep Blue S07. Although there is currently limited information available on the interior, it is expected that the new car will continue Deep Blue's consistent minimalist and tech-savvy design style.
In terms of power, the Deep Blue S09 will adopt the same extended-range power system as the Deep Blue G318, namely a 1.5T engine with a single/dual motor. This powertrain combination not only provides strong power output but also excellent fuel economy. In terms of batteries, the new car is expected to be equipped with the latest Ningde Times battery with 3C fast charging capability, or even the same 52kWh battery as the AITO M7, enabling a longer pure electric driving range.
In terms of price, the Deep Blue S09 is expected to be priced between 180,000 and 250,000 yuan, making it highly competitive in its class. Additionally, the new car will offer a 2+2+2 six-seat layout and a 2+3 five-seat version to meet the needs of different consumers.
The Tesla Model Y, Xiaomi MX11, and Deep Blue S09, all set to be launched in the first quarter of 2025, each have their unique characteristics. The Tesla Model Y has won market recognition for its classic design and exceptional performance; the Xiaomi MX11 stands out with its crossover design and intelligent technology; and the Deep Blue S09 focuses on the practical needs of family users, offering spacious interior space and excellent fuel economy.
