Kuaikeji, June 23 - At the 2026 Volcano Engine FORCE Conference held today, ByteDance unveiled its new AI video generation tool, Seedance 2.5. Currently in the enterprise beta testing phase, the model is expected to officially launch in early July.

The previous version, Seedance 2.0, could only generate videos up to 15 seconds long. The new version directly doubles the duration of a single video output, natively capable of producing complete 30-second videos. This allows for seamless long shots and complete short stories without the need for segmented splicing, significantly improving the smoothness of visual storytelling.

The limit on reference materials has also been significantly expanded. The 2.0 version could only import up to 12 pieces of graphic, audio, and video materials at a time, while the 2.5 version supports 50 full-modality reference materials per project, ensuring more consistent character representations and visual styles without the need for repeated parameter adjustments.

The controllability of daily editing and modifications has been enhanced. Without altering the actions, camera angles, or lighting of the original video, users can simply replace the main character in the scene to complete secondary creation.

A new 3D white mold preview function has been added, allowing for the simulation and debugging of shot compositions and camera movements in advance, significantly reducing the time spent on trial-and-error generation.

Meanwhile, the new version natively supports 4K high-definition video output, and the official has also retroactively added 4K generation capabilities to the older Seedance 2.0 version.

An accompanying AI copyright commercialization platform was also unveiled at the event, with Stephen Chow being one of the first IP partners. The platform has created official creative templates based on several of his classic films. Users can now adapt classic film clips using compliant templates in tools like CapCut, Jimeng, and Doubao, with the daily creation volume of such templates already exceeding 100,000 times.
