We’ve got an exclusive inside scoop!
A few days ago, a fan of ‘Dujia’ shared some exciting news: the Tencent Cloud team is developing a cutting-edge product—a brand-new online cloud storage platform dubbed ‘Tencent Drive.’ This platform offers a suite of services, including AI-driven asset backup, online document collaboration and sharing, and data distribution. It’s designed to cater to both individual users and businesses, aiming to streamline data management processes. Notably, this product has been incorporated into Tencent’s ‘Efficiency Agent Tool Suite.’

This product actually made a cameo at the 2026 Tencent Cloud AI Industry Application Conference. During the event, Tang Daosheng, Senior Executive Vice President of Tencent Group, unveiled Tencent’s plans to launch an ‘Efficiency Agent Tool Suite,’ which integrates three key capabilities: scenario connectivity, the Harness engineering system, and the Hunyuan model Co-Design.
In the official diagrams, ‘Tencent Drive’ is positioned within the ‘Connector’ application matrix, alongside other Tencent offerings like Tencent Docs and IMA.

Upon learning this, my initial thought was, ‘But don’t they already have Weiyun?’
However, further investigation revealed that this new product isn’t meant to replace Tencent Weiyun. Instead, it’s a differentiated cloud storage service crafted by Tencent Cloud to address diverse user scenarios. Tencent Drive places a stronger emphasis on specialized and scenario-based data management, bridging the gap in Tencent’s enterprise-level and advanced personal cloud storage solutions.
Tencent Drive offers a range of services, including AI-powered asset backup, online document collaboration and sharing, and data distribution. It caters to both individual and business users, providing tailored service versions based on account types.
For individual users, Tencent Drive offers both free and paid storage options. Users can participate in free storage expansion activities to boost their capacity. On the other hand, enterprise users will need to opt for the paid enterprise version.
Industry experts predict that once launched, this new product will complement Tencent’s existing cloud storage offerings, such as Weiyun, by creating a tiered and scenario-based service model.
As an outsider to the industry, my thoughts extend beyond cloud storage. Imagine Tencent Drive seamlessly integrating into Tencent’s vast ecosystem, alongside WeChat, WeCom, Tencent Meeting, and Tencent Docs. Such integration would be incredibly appealing to businesses.
In other words, leveraging Tencent’s expansive social network-centric ecosystem, Tencent Drive has the potential to become another Typical Case (Note: ‘Typical Case’ is retained for cultural context but can be translated as ‘classic case’ if necessary) of a latecomer taking the lead.
Currently, the product is still in the preparatory stages, with no specific launch date or details announced yet. We’ll be keeping a close eye on its progress.
