After realizing a year-on-year increase of 121.55% in net profit, Transsion, known as the 'King of African Mobile Phones', immediately distributed a wave of 'red packets', directly increasing the year-end bonus by 30%.
As a major chip supplier to Transsion mobile phones, MediaTek has undoubtedly made a fortune in recent years. However, in contrast, MediaTek has been slow to distribute a significant bonus to its employees. Is MediaTek a 'miser' who doesn't want to spend a penny?
In fact, this is not the case. Although the large dividend in August was delayed, it finally arrived, and it increased by more than 70% compared to the same period last year, leaving many workers envious.

According to Taiwan's Economic Daily News, outsiders estimate that the total dividend payout this time will reach NT$13 billion.
Judging from its earlier performance report, not every employee will receive this generous bonus. Only about 12,000 lucky individuals will be eligible, translating to approximately NT$1.05 million per person, or roughly RMB 234,000 yuan.
While RMB 234,000 may seem like a significant amount, it's not MediaTek's limit. In the first half of 2022, its bonus pool approached NT$15.8 billion, with per capita dividends ranging from NT$2.48 to NT$2.7 million.
Upon the announcement of these dividend details, netizens became 'jealous' and joked about moving in with 'Uncle Fa' (MediaTek's affectionate nickname).
The media also learned from interviews that MediaTek actually distributes dividends twice a year, at the end of February and August.
The specific amount each employee receives depends on factors such as performance, job level, and department. Bonuses are typically distributed promptly along with monthly salaries.
As of press time, MediaTek has not officially responded to these reports.
Judging from MediaTek's revenue performance in the first half of this year, this large dividend payout is within industry expectations.
Not only did it surpass former dominant player Qualcomm in the first quarter, increasing its market share of 5G chips to 29.2%, but its revenue also accelerated in the second quarter, growing by 29.68% to exceed NT$28.1 billion.
Looking ahead to the second half of this year, MediaTek should not be underestimated. Earlier, blogger @i Ice Universe revealed that Samsung tablets, which have traditionally used Qualcomm chips, will switch to MediaTek.
If the rumor is true, MediaTek has gained another advantage in the high-end market competition.
