As one of the first smartphones powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen4, iQOO 13 has been making headlines recently.

As the highest-end product line under iQOO, the digital series has always been renowned for its top-tier performance experience. With recent generations gradually addressing shortcomings in imaging, it has evolved into a versatile device catering to diverse consumer needs. With the gradual emergence of information related to the new iQOO 13 series, sources have also revealed some hardware configuration details about the iQOO 13.

Firstly, the application of light strips and lighting elements in mobile phone design is not uncommon, though it hasn't been mainstream in recent years. However, according to Mingmei Infinite, iQOO, known for its light strip design, is set to embrace a retro style. Some bloggers have revealed that iQOO 13 will return to the light strip design, though the specific styling remains unknown.

For users who have experienced the first-generation iQOO series, this design will be familiar. It involves carving a divergent light track about 1mm deep into the glass back panel, allowing the light from the strip to shine through. This design was quite striking at the time, and iQOO complemented it with software-based lighting effects, enhancing the visual impact.

Moreover, multiple sources claim that iQOO 13 will make concessions in certain details, including imaging capabilities and charging performance. The imaging may be inferior to its predecessor, and fast charging power will be reduced, potentially signaling a renewed focus on gaming.

Based on current information, while iQOO 13 series may compromise on imaging and charging, other configurations will undergo a comprehensive upgrade.

According to digital bloggers, iQOO 13 will feature a 2K BOE straight screen, a large battery exceeding 6000mAh with a 100W fast charging capability, and a single-point ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.

Predictions indicate that the device will sport a 2K resolution LTPO AMOLED screen. The core advantage of LTPO technology lies in its ability to dynamically adjust the refresh rate based on display content, ranging from 1Hz up to 144Hz or even potentially 165Hz, though specific figures are yet to be confirmed. This dynamic adjustment not only enhances the visual experience but also significantly improves battery life. Its resolution of up to 2800 x 1260 pixels ensures extremely clear and detailed image display.

Notably, apart from its high resolution and flat design, this screen integrates ultrasonic fingerprint recognition technology to enhance device security and unlock speed, thereby improving the user experience.

In other aspects, earlier reports suggested that iQOO 13 will eliminate the Pro model, retaining only the standard version.

The phone will be equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen4 processor, paired with LPDDR5XH and UFS 4.0, and will also inherit dual X-axis linear motors.

It is worth mentioning that Qualcomm will abandon the ARM public version architecture for the Snapdragon 8 Gen4 and instead adopt its self-developed Nuvia Phoenix architecture, realizing a "2+6" all-big-core layout with no small cores and a peak clock speed of 4.2GHz. GeekBench 6 tests show that the prototype scores over 3,000 points in single-core tests and exceeds 10,000 points in multi-core tests, representing a 35.5% increase in single-core performance and a 33.9% boost in multi-core performance compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen3.

However, iQOO 13 appears to make concessions in fast charging. According to other bloggers, its fast charging function does not reach the super-fast 100W level and does not support wireless charging.

In terms of appearance, the rear camera DECO design of iQOO 13's current engineering prototype has seen minimal changes, and adjustments in other aspects remain unclear.

For comparison, the current iQOO 12 features a straight screen design and offers three color options: Legend, Track, and Blaze. iQOO 12 comes standard with a self-developed gaming chip Q1, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, and sports a 6.78-inch 2800×1260 OLED straight screen using Visionox 8T luminous material, supporting a 144Hz refresh rate. It has an equivalent battery capacity of 5000mAh and features a rear 50MP 1/1.3" main camera with optical image stabilization, a 64MP periscope telephoto lens with 100x digital zoom, and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens.

Moreover, based on the release schedule of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor, iQOO 13 is expected to be officially launched at the end of October or early November. We can stay tuned for its actual performance.

In conclusion, while the hardware configuration gap between iQOO 13 and iQOO 12 is not significant, the latter does exhibit a reduction in photography capabilities. Nevertheless, the upgrades in other aspects are highly appealing. We will continue to monitor developments regarding this device.
