As everyone knows, Chinese manufacturers (including Taiwan Province) account for the largest share in Apple's supply chain, accounting for more than 50%, and among them, the proportion of Chinese mainland manufacturers accounts for about 26%.
From the perspective of proportion, China's mainland has the highest proportion. In other words, this figure basically proves that Apple cannot do without Chinese manufacturing, after all, the assembly of the iPhone series is mostly completed by Foxconn.
However, this is just a superficial phenomenon, and there is a painful truth behind it, that is, the Chinese supply chain used by Apple is basically not any core products, nor is it core technology. Apple can kick them out or replace them whenever they want.
Some time ago, an institution dismantled the iPhone 15 and then classified the parts according to price cost. It can be seen that the value of the parts provided by the Chinese mainland supply chain accounts for approximately 2-3%, which is far from the 26% proportion.
It means that what Chinese manufacturers provide may be worthless things, with none of the core and high-value parts.
Let's take a more specific look. Previously, TechInsights conducted a teardown analysis of the iPhone 15 Pro and also classified and organized chip brands, providing specific diagrams.
From this diagram, we can see that none of the core chips in Apple's iPhone 15 Pro are manufactured in China, and they are all brands from Japan, South Korea, the United States, or Europe.
As shown in the figure, none of these brands are from mainland China. Broadcom, Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, SKYWorks, etc., are American brands. Storage chip KIOXIA is Japanese, and DRAM memory is from South Korea's SK Hynix.
You can't find a single chip that is made by a mainland Chinese manufacturer, let alone one that is manufactured in China...
It can be seen that although Apple needs the Chinese supply chain, it is not dependent on it, because non-core things are too easy to replace.
In my opinion, the reason why so many Chinese mainland enterprises are in Apple's supply chain is that China's mainland has relatively cheap labor and low-cost products, which are very competitive. Therefore, Apple uses these supply chains in China to save costs.
From the perspective of Apple's products, most of the Chinese supply chains also provide wires, cases, connectors, OEM, etc. The most valuable parts are all purchased from Japan, the United States, South Korea, Europe, and other regions.
What Apple values is not Chinese technology, but Chinese cheap products and cheap labor, that's all. What do you think?
However, Chinese enterprises that have entered Apple's supply chain are not necessarily secure. For Apple, they can also be replaced at any time. As long as your product's cost-effectiveness is not as good as others, it can be replaced immediately, because you are not a core component. Apple can change it whenever they want, without affecting Apple's products. This is the reality.
Therefore, to be honest, if we want to truly help China'
